opinions on adding fish

Hi local crew. How about a non lfs topic for a change?

3 months ago I had an outbreak of ich after adding some new fish without QT. Bad, I know. I lost my hippo tang but all other fish came through unscathed without removing or treating any of the remaining fish. its been 10 weeks or so with no sign of any ich whatsoever and I thinking of adding another hippo or purple tang. Im concerned about the latent parasites probably present in the tank. what are some thoughts on this?

it's been long enough. is the tank totally clean? probably not but a healthy specimen into an otherwise healthy system should be fine. since there are no signs I would think it's safe. I would add the purple tang last they are buttholes. I have had more than one regal tang completely unhealthy and covered pull out of some sort of parasites after weeks of me thinking they would be dead in the morning. not saying anything bad about your tank just make sure you have no ammonia, nitrite or nitrates. having algea or nori in the tank they can feed on most of the day really helps too. both mine are fat and almost completely clean. as soon as they are I will be adding a blonde naso so I need to start looking for a small healthy one.

I have 2 cleaner shrimp. all the fish are outwardly as healthy as can be. all eating like pigs. no blemishes at all

UV sterlizers are god sends. i cought ich back in october and i put a uv sterilizer on my tank and i havnt cought ich since then.
