Saw a pair at my lfs, and became intrigued. Researched online but didnt find more then a couple of paragraphs (on alot of different sites) but mostly said the same stuff.

Any personal experiences and info on hosting.

Good sturdy fish but I would put them on the aggressive list right below a maroon clownfish.

My pair when I had them hosted in any haddoni carpet I put near them and never had any interest in bubbletips at all. Unfortunately they can be a really rough host and ended up having to be taken away from my carpet for its overall better health. The female I had got huge and was a brute but the male wasnt too bad. I kept the carpet and ended up getting rid of the clowns.

They were really cool fish and I miss them but one of the local club members got them and was going to try to get them to breed so all is good.

My current pair of false percs have no interest at all which is a good thing.

Will get a new pic tomorrow of the carpet. I think I have had him almost a year and a half now. It seems to love the tech tank setup I have him in. Settled right in and buried his foot probably on the glass bottom like he usually does.

Only bad side of the carpet is when moving him the last time it caught me on the underside of the wrist and stung the crap out of me. Actually left a small scar. Was my own fault for being careless when trying to remove him but he just wouldnt let go.

I have 9 of them, got them as juveniles, the female of the group is pretty big and she isn't rough in my nems.

I have several BTA's and 1 Magnifica that hosts them. Although they mainly stay in my large green bta.

I just saw this thread. I bought a pair of black saddlebacks yesterday. They do get big and aggressive eventually though
