Optical Imputs

Hi I am thinking/planning on getting the 3pro.
I will need to use the controller to top off my sump when it gets low, can I use an optical sensor like the tunze osmolator or am I stuck with the float style?
Thanks

I would think you could use an optcal sensor as it is basically just a switch. You could hook it into one of the inputs.
I am curious to the answer as well :)

Hope you dont have a cat or dog that will go in there and create havoc with the optical switch!

i'm curious too. where do you get the optical? Salvage an osmolator?

Someone needs to start a home business making cool add-ons to these toys.

Most online electrical component stores carry them and suprisingly enough they are not that expensive.

For submerged water level sensors, I use parts of the SpectraPure top-off control module. It has a pressure activated relay that you can wire either as a top-off or pump-saver switch.

For high water level detection, I use float switches. I bought mines from http://www.aquahub.com . Their mold-a-holder is great for attaching the switch to the tank.
