Optical sensor issue

The other day i found my hi level alarm on.It seems the optical sensor was not working correctly.
The sensor looked clean but i cleaned it anyway and then it seemed to start working.
Today i found my level too low but the sensor reading that the level was good.
The sensor is perfectly clean,it seems there may be a connection type issue in the sensor head.
Is there anything else i could check?can i change out the sensor harness seperately?
I have tweaked the sensor around and it seems to be working right now but i am guessing the fault will re occur.

It could be the sensor or it could be the capacitor that powers the sensor. If the controller is less than 2 years old, send it in, I will repair it or replace it at no charge.

I bought it used,i believe it to be older than 2 years.

If you could pm me a guesstimate of repair costs and turnaround that would be great.

Labor is a flat $25, that includes return shipping and cleaning. The optic sensor is $25 as well if required.
