Optimal settings for photographing fish with Canon A610

Im having a hard time getting clear pictures of my fish with my Canon powershot A610. Can anyone help me with finding the optimal settings for this camera for fish? I have gotten some decent coral pictures but none that are great. I could also use some help in the settings for coral shots. So far the best shots i could get are in the Aperture priority mode and having the aperture turned down all the way. quality superfine, effect is underwater shot, ISO 50, autofocus on point. anyone have any pointers?

ive been having luck with it set to custom with the effect as cloudy and the iso @ 400. i either use the macro mode or the manual focus mode. also turn off the red eye and flash.

Now these aren't not close to the optimal settings. but ive gotten pretty good shots out of them. check my gallery.

here are some pics ive taken with this camera. All corals were at the LFS

all photos were taken in macro mode. Aperture priority shooting mode with aperture set as low as possible, Cloudy white ballance setting, 2 second autoshoot, ISO 50, Neutral effect, center weighted average focus, superfine quality, and largest resolution. All were taken using a tripod and no flash

oh and as a tip i would reccomend not using the cloudy white ballance setting. I still havent figured out the Manual white ballance so i didnt use it

those turned out better than mine. im gonna try your settings. did you have a different lens on there or are you using a stock camera???

just the stock camera, I have the lens adapter and macro lens on the way in the mail

use a tripod or some other means of steadying the camera...

Where did you order the adapter and the macro lens from? I want to get those as well.

Man those are some good pics, itried your setting and go mixed results....my pics are nowhere near as clear as yours.

whats weird is I took all those pics at an LFS and i cant get pics that nice from my tank at home. Nothin near that clear
