just wondering if anyone can help i am getting in a pair of picasso clowns from ora through my lfs and was wondering what size these are likely to be, and if anybody has any comments or pictures of ora picasso clown fish???

They're probably around an inch in length, light orange, with their stripes but with very little black. The black will come later :) My avatar shows my ORA B's.

The pair of ORA I got back in November 21, 2008. I'd say that the arrival size is about an 1" to 1.24". No black.

Here's pic of my Grade A ORA picassos. This pic was taken a while back, need to update, though they don't look much different than this pic.

^^^^^the shape of the head on that one Picasso looks strange, is that just the picture or do some of the Picasso's have body deformity???

I got my pair just before x-mas. They were actually a little larger than I expected. One was about 1 3/4" and the other was a little over an inch. They are starting to color up nicely too.

Very nice, about how old are they?

Here's a (bad) picture of mine...
They were purchased almost 2 and a half years ago, and just laid their first batch of eggs:celeb1:

Nice pics, where are you guys ordering these from?

My LFS was able to get several pairs from ORA just before x-mas.

Same here.

BTW, Congrats jdreefer on the batch of eggs! are you going to try to raise them? I've had mine for a year and a half. Every day they go "through the mating motions", but no eggs. You give me hope thet they will eventually lay eggs!

Thanks.

I will probably not try to raise them as that would require lots of free time and patience. Two things I am short on. I will try to get some tile in there so that the eggs could be pulled if someone else in the area wanted to try their hand.

Mine have been cleaning and going through the motions for a LOOOONNNGGG time. Its been so long that I stopped looking to see if there were actually eggs. I am pretty sure this is their first batch but could have missed prior ones. Good luck with yours. I'm sure it will happen sooner or later. Clowns just don't seem to have our same timetable.

Gorgeous fish BTW. We need a recent pic. What does their other side look like? I assume their black is still filling in?

I love the sideburns. The male of my two is not the original pair. The original one (who jumped to its death) had awesome patterns and huge sideburns like the ORA parent does.

Awsome. I have had my new pair of picasso's for about a week in my sump (temp qt) and all looked great. So now they are in the display for three days and continue to look great. Maybe you guys can help me out, not to steal this thread, but has anyone else noticed there pair swim together towards the top of the tank? Really just staying in the top 3/4 of the tank (tank size below) is this normal?
