ORA red planet

Gary, I really like the way the rp looks in the top pic. Mine has the real pronounced green base with real bright red branches.. The one on my overflow is real bright red with little or no green in certian areas..
Here's the one growing at the bottom of my tank...

You can see the one on my overflow in this pic...

I thought I'd revive this old thread to show some updated pics and the variations of this coral in the same aquarium.

First, here is the initial frag I got from Henry back in December of 2008:

It has since survived a couple of tank-emptying episodes (ich in 2009 and a leak in 2011), several relocations, and fraggings.

Here it is directly under 250 watt Phoenix 14K's. (I like how it's formed a "bridge" between the two islands of rock):

Here it is on the opposite side of the aquarium. It's currently competing with a couple of RBTA's and a pair of Clarkii clowns for space. (Note the eggs.) It wouldn't surprise me if this eventually covers the entire rock.:

And here's a frag that I cut a couple of weeks ago mounted in a somewhat shaded location closer to the 150 W Pheonix 14 K's in the center of the aquarium:

Apologies for the washed out cell phone pics. I've got to remember to bring my good camera in one of these days.

Excellent pics Scott!

Henry, your tank is looking outstanding. Can't believe the growth you've had since I last saw everything.
