orange ricordia deal - donavons reef

Hmm if you keep in touch with donavon he may be able to hook you up with those. With my T5s and a few other corals sorta blue shaped and the purple actinodiscus ones im not an overly large fan... i like the teal\greenish ones and cant wait to see how the yellows turn out

I admit i like the blue ones with the pink mouths, that pink color is always so bright

The money will be delivered to Chrisstie tomorrow. Sorry I cant meet you guys up at SITC on Saturday. Ill be fishing with my father in law and daughter. Thank you Chrisstie, hexedagain, and hubby for this seriously sweet deal!! Im really excited!!

So I guess I should say your welcome? Your welcome for helping me get a great deal on some orange rics? LOL.
I am just glad that this could be worked out.

well when u guys get it and everything if you've got an extra polyp i'd be interested. Lemme know what the going rate is when you decide.

Alrighty, change of plan. Hexed, I already called Chrisstie and let her know. Tomorrow, my fishing trip for tomorrow has been cancelled due to the cold weather, so I will be coming up to SITC. That way, I wont have to make a trip to Chrisstie's house twice. So I will be there tomorrow to give the money and get the rics!! She is going to call me and let me know when youre leaving beause it will take me an hour to get up there also. See you guys tomorrow!!!

My order came in and looks great.. the yellows have a little baby polyp next to them already.. so tiny and cute!

Hexedagain,

If you have any polyps left, I'd be interested in getting one from you. Please let me know and we can make arrangements.

Thanks.

I'll get pics of them tomorrow after they've had time to chill out in the tank a little bit. The bubble ones I ordered tend to squirt their guts out until they settle in and are looking pretty much normal tonight.

The yellow is *really* yellow. When you look over at the orange one in my aquapod its like wow, banana yellow color.

Also fyi donavon said he has some more rocks so i fyou're interested pm me and i can send you his website and info :)

If the ORCA officers want, even though his shop is online and a little small time, you may be able to convince him to be a sponsor.. He's 8 years in the hobby and the stuff he keeps in his own tanks are just amazing

Here's some pics of the orange rock.
Looks a little stressed, but they should be nice when they settle down.

I moved them into a low flow area to adjust.

Guy's I have to say, I am bummed out.
I got home this afternoon, and the rics are basically gone from the rock. I took pics, and all I can say is this blows.

Here they were last night, looking stressed, but like they would come around.

This is what they looked like when I got home this afternoon. Man this just bums me out.

This ruined a perfectly good day.:(
It's a bad pic, but you can see a piece of a ric still hanging on.
I will be looking for another deal like this, and will get with you guy's when I do.
I am very sorry about this. I never dreamed this would have happened.

I have no idea.
I left for work at 7:00 and they looked the same as last night. I figured they would look good when the lights came on. I got home around 1:00 and they looked like the second pic.
My other rics and yumas are doing fine, but whatever happened, it has my tank cloudy. So, looks like a water change is about to happen.

Holy cow what happened? Were you able to accept the package as soon as it arrived? Mine came in around 9:30am and my guys looked a bit stressed but are poofed out more today like I expected yours to be.. not completely gone off of the rock. DId they detach or melt or what?

You should get ahold of donavon and see whats up.. The only thing I can think of is that if you didnt get them right away, it was pretty hot yesterday morning and maybe they had a hard time acclimating to your tank.

I floated mine for about 20 mins and then dripped them for around 45 mins (until it was more than double the original water volume)

I still need to get pics.. I'll go do that I just came home with a brain coral today i need to get into the tank soon its been dripping

I didn't get to accept them when they arrived, but my wife got them around 11:30 and started floating them for me.
They floated for a bit too long I am sure, but it was better than sitting on my doorstep.
They stunk really bad when I opened the bag, I should have know something right then.
I am going to contact Donovan, and see if there is anything that can be done.

It looks like they either just melted away, or were torn to shreads. They were in a no to low flow area.
i have found a couple of pieces laying around, but nothing of any size.

I've got pics uploading now they are actually looking really good... Darn actinics came on mid-shoot >< all this while im cooking ribs

I really reallyf eel so surprised and heart broken for you :( I know he has other rocks maybe he can work out a deal with a replacement... I found out my package had been delivered maybe 20 mins since the DHL guy never ran our ringer and we didn't hear his truck but thank goodness I kept on checking tracking... The deliveryman put the package behind a pillar on my porch so it was mostly shaded and the heat from the sun on one part of the box was surprising...

I wouldn't think a little longer would kill them but its possible they just went through too much temperature shock?
