Orange shoulder question,

i got one a few months back from RMS ,, how long does the transformation form juvi to his adult colors ?? when i got it he was a juvi , very yellow. Now hes a light Grey in color and still has yellow fins and underside, still has yellow shoulder bar,, this guy is a pig ,, always picking on my spray bar and back wall of the tank , loves anything i put in there algae sheets , Rods food , spectrum flake/pellets , live anything , hes getting pretty thick ,, and does he just **** my sailfin off, they are like frick and frack,,, never to far from each other. My Sailfin is laid back just cruises around , and the shoulder is wired up 24/7 allllll over the place at 100 mph. like the hyper little brother . if you have any insight , fill me in one the color time line ,,,

I think it takes close to a year, I have one going through the change right now too.

It takes longer than a year atleast for me. I have had my orangeshoulder for three years now. When I first got him he looked as if he was turning gray, hasn't happened yet. Still a cool looking fish.

My last one took about a year, I think less to change from a large yellow to full blown grey with orange. I wonder if diet has anything to do with change?

My luck I purchased a defective fish or the runt of the litter. My fish eats everything, mysid,spectrum flake,pellets,seaweed salad. No luck
