ORCA Web Site "Please Read"

I everyone,

Best wishes and happy holidays to all of you.

I'm sending out this message to all of you that frequent (or should I say attempt to frequent) the ORCA web site at www.o-r-c-a.com

It should be no secret that from time to time the ORCA site doesn't seem to work properly... Well... things may get worse before they get better.

I'm making an effort to get the ORCA web site re-routed to a different server. However, this is going to take some time. I'm optimistic that we'll get the site turned around hopefully by sometime in January 2008.

I need to ask you all to understand the following:

1st
I am not a web admin guy... I'm just a good 'ol boy Reef Guy trying to figure out who to call and how to go about getting this done. So, take it easy on me and the rest of ORCA's board. None of us have a Web Admin skill set. So this is going to take some time to correct.

2nd
If the Web site is down or you have login / PM issues, please understand that we're working on things at a much lower level and you may be without normal site functions for a week or two...

3rd
I'm soliciting to any active ORCA members who are proficient and skilled in Web site administration to contact me if your interested in helping us out and getting our web site straightened out. I'm "not" looking for people who tinker with web sites... Rather we need a Professional who's willing to volunteer their time as I along with the rest of the board do.

It's a shame to be part of a club such as ORCA that is clearly a top notch organization, yet have a web site that is so crippled...

I tried a couple of days last week and it would not accept the password I thought it was. Then told the site to email me my password and got nothing. Its all good. Free service can NEVER be complained about!

If you are looking for a new host I would gladly reccomend quality-servers.com we have been hosting our store website with them for years...
 
I'm really bummed, but understanding....I have been dead there for almost 3 weeks now.....

BUT....don't get me wrong, I don't have ANY knowledge of stuff like that, and am appreciative of those who do....I know it will b e fixed, and I will be just as happy as can be when it does....as was said above....it is free!
 
I am still not able to get logged in or getting password reminders in the email from the site. If someone from orca could drop me a PM when they get a chance that would be great! ;)
