order my DT today...

it's coming from up North in Toronoto... DT is 465gal, overal system capacity will be ~700 gal... likely won't actually be online until late summer, but at least it's now underway.

System will an in-wall installation. Really looking forward to having a tank up again, its been awhile. DT: 96x36x31.25

it will be a slow process, folks would likely get bored on a build thread. I have followed some excellent ones and I'm no author

it will take 8-9 weeks to get the tank and then everything is coming up slowly from scratch. I took the last tank down in 2006, so it a totally new event. I will try to post from time to time but I dont want to bore folks.

if I do a build thread it may be over on r2r. I have a guy based over there who going to be my mentor as I work to everything up.

I'm getting a bit antsy too, but I've waited this long, so...

starting to order other parts while I'm waiting on the tank:
- got the RO/DI sytem in
- Apex in
- BK 300 Ext
- 2 Rubermaid 125g stock tanks for sump & refug on order
- 4 VorTech 40's, 6 Radions about to be on order (working both EcoTechs groups with supplier)
- sand
- salt
- GFO & carbon reactors
- various pumps

still to order:
- holding tanks for plain & salt water
- plumibiing hw

even though I'm starting to order, its going to be months before anything is really happening...

haven't give much thought to livestock yet, focused on the backend - coral focus will likley tend toward sps

plan to bring it slowly to be sure the kinks are out -- dont wanna start killing a bunch of stuff -- may look strange peering into an empty 465g for awhile

the last tank was "here, hold my beer while I try this and see how it goes...", dont intend to repeat that.

Plumbing scheme is key. I don't know how many reconfigurations I went through and how many trips I made to Home Depot. Those fittings and valves add up QUICK!

orderd 2 65g holding tanks today, 1 for RO & 1 for salt water -- still need to work out the ATO plan

started to build out part of the fish room today...

I'm guessing its still Aug/Sep before much living stuff is inside the DT.

With that volume, take your time and get it right. Once it's running it's that much harder to rework or fix. My new tank took about 9 months to get running, and another 2 to get it running right.
