anyone planning on installing a Koi Pond this spring? many fish enthusiast have them now, does any one know if there are any oriental ponds or koi clubs in the area?

Cool, any theme to it? like Japanese water garden, English garden or farm pond ? it is interesting to see what people come up with.

The original pond will become all planted I will add another 2 or 3 more potted plants, the new pond that will recieve water from the old will be for my koi, Going deeper this time since my boy is older now.

I am hoping to finish mine in the spring. Just have to complete the water fall and landscape around it.

I've seen it...pretty sure Old Crusty has worked on it too, Really nice expensive fish. I'm more into the landscaping end of it though. I can't tell the difference from a 100 koi and a 1000 dollar one.

Greg From Aquatic tech has one of the nicest pond setups and back yards I've seen

I have one as well... been up for about 8 years now. I did find out the hard way that if you have a 'fake' waterfall coming out of the rocks make sure they can't jump out of the pond...

Unfortunetly its under 8" of snow at the moment... so no pics.

Like Kreeger I also like the landscaping part of it.
that I think is what can make or break a nice pond.
i was in Toledo at Select Stone and they have several beautiful ponds
with some very unique ideas on pond design. the fish actually enhanced the landscaping.
every time I was at lenas the pond was covered for the winter
never got to see it in the summer.

For some reason I thought you had worked on it? Selct stone has some really nice stuff there. I got my liner and skimmer box there and my pump as well I think.

Her reef tank was pretty nice too, I think I saw it forsale at Dan's though. I no she was looking to sell it for over a year now. If you get a chance to check out Greg's pond I would. actually it's 2 connected ponds. One is 6 feet deep straight down with some monster big koi.

I saw some ponds on you tube that were fantastic, some really nice ideas and setups on there. would be interested in hearing about peoples filtration systems what seems to work the best?

I use to belong to a forum on gardenweb dot com
There were lots of people from the area there. I'm pretty sure they had a local club.
