You guys forgot to mention 1 fish 2 fish in saint cloud Jonathan the owner has some of the best deals I've seen:rollface:
I heard they closed...:( I liked them, very nice people.

If ross was still at ocean blue i would still be going there and would say it is the best, but he is not. Since ross has left i feel that it has kinda gone down the drain imo.

I reccomend Marcye at Sea In the City to anyone locally, she is very knowledgable and can easily answer any questions you may have regarding your fish or reefs, there is also lots of very nice looking and reasonably priced fish and corals.

Come on man - lay OFF Ocean Blue! Vihn's shop is very, very well set up and he has quality stock. I learned alot from Vihn and how to set up a great store, and am presently implementing his inspirations in my remodel.

We are lucky here in central florida to have so many quality options for shops here - enjoy the diversity!

Man somebody really loves Ross. But "down the drain," that comment is uncalled for and doesn't even make sense. How old are you bluecarpet?

Ok I got that part...and I'm pretty sure you will be working at Ross's store which is great since Ross is a good guy.

BUT I was referencing the OB going "down the drain" comment that you made. That is an ignorant comment :thumbdown because they just added tons of equipment for sale including Deltec and Geisman to name a few. I don't think you would invest in that if you were "going down the drain." And not to mention Ted who now works there definetly picked up the slack. I doubt Ross would want you to take cheap shots at OB by saying something like that. Anyway please tell us why you think OB is "going down the drain" because I am definitely missing something.

I agree..I can't believe that Ross would want his name associated with slamming anyone...he and Vihn seemed to get along great and all this is in very poor taste. With the exception of one store in the area, which I will not mention, I like everyone and think they do their best to keep their stores clean and their livestock alive and healthy. I don't always agree with their policies as I'm sure they don't agree with all mine, but that's no reason to bash. I was at Seven Seas a couple days ago and the staff there was incredibly nice and very knowledgable with a nice variety of livestock. Not everyone can afford Deltec and Geisman so it's great that there are other stores with alternatives that may not be as expensive. It's a shame to have these boards reduced to this pettiness. There is so much good that could be shared here...and on that note, did anyone happen to read todays Sentinel Article about the death of the coral reefs? Discussions of that type would make for a much healthier and amicable exchange...at least I would hope.

Ross has no part in what i say so please you guys dont bring ross into the equation like this, he is a great guy. Ocean Blue imo is going down the drain, i dont want to go into detail b/c that is not my style. People can choose whether they want to go there or not and not listen to me ramble on about why it is going down the drain. As to your last comment you are leading a little to far into politics which is not aloud here. And i will not answer to why the coral reefs are dying but simply say its a cycle. So in all due respect please dont go around saying ross is apart of my opinions b/c the fact is, he is not. No hard feelings to anyone.

Everyone has their opinions.
The last time I was in OB, couple of weeks ago, I thought the store was looking good. They had some nice frags, some nice full colonies, lots of good stuff. I like their store.

I don't think anyone sees Ocean Blue as going down the drain. I can see how you could say that if you were working at another LFS. Store bashing shouldnt be allowed on RC either. If you honestly see it as going down the drain then are talking price, employees, livestock, drygoods or service, etc... Feedback can always help stores improve, but without feedback that is just sounds like bashing.

wow, this thread is certainly a ball of redundancy! :)

at the end of the day, orlando has offered more quality than I've seen in some cities. SITC is definitely my favorite, though they dont have an abundance of fish yada yada, OB is ok too, just not my favorite or my style I guess, not bashing any store, but you know we're entitled to our opinions. I've only been to fish bowl once, they were super nice as well. I'm actually excited to see the new store. Fishy Business has a huge selection, they dont really seem to care much about the animals rather than pushing them out the door. I'm glad the girl who bagged up my fish remembered to tell they use copper in all of their non invert tanks. I guess they all serve their purpose, and if youre like many others in the hobby, youll just enjoy going to all of them to see whatever it is they have to offer.

I, personally, feel that true and honest feedback is important, regardless of whether it is good or bad. I also think that if someone tells about an experience with a store, they should not sugar-coat it and should tell the honest truth about why they feel it is a good or a bad store. I will watch my words closely as this is always a somewhat touchy subject, but these are my opinions. If you are going to say something like what has been said, like a store is going downhill, I would like an explanation as to why you feel that way. If someone is bashing your favorite store, is that going to make you stop going? NO!!! It will still be your favorite store tomorrow, just post your experiences with them...no need to bash the person who said something negative about the store. Every store is in business for a reason. And it's not because they are horrible stores. Once in a while, someone will have a horrible experience with a store, but that does not make it bad. I have come on here before posting about a disatisfied experience once or twice, but at the same time, it was more because I needed to vent and if I tell my friends, they stare at me with a blank face not having a clue about what I am trying to explain...that's why I come here. I will button my lip for now as I don't want anymore repercussions to occur from my words, but just take them to heart when you are writing here on RC. It is a priveledge, not a right(DAMN!!!! I sound like my father...thanks guys for making me act like him)

If you want to post a comment about a negative experience, you should have that choice without getting slaughtered for it. If you have a positive experience, you should be able to come here without 100 people saying, "What!! Are you kidding me. That place sucks. You're stupid." It works both ways.

Heck, I've had a few positive experiences at Petland, I would just never post it here because I'm truely afraid of what kind of $#!+storm might occur because of it. Let's all act civil and we can be more productive for everyone involved.

Please, do not take this as anything personal to any one person. This is a generalized message from me on how I think civil and truely dedicated people should act...not taking any example from our overall messed up view in society. I'm not quoting anyone or singling you out. I'm just concerned that we are becoming very negative when this hobby is supposed to be positive. Just remember we are very lucky to have the opportunity to have conversations about which fish store is better, not which fish store is the worst. Many places don't have one good or even debatable fish store and we have many that happen to be our sponsors and care enough about our club to stick with us through thick and thin, despite how much we, as single members of our club, berrate them.

I think you've provided more than enough information for the original poster, so with cschweitzer's fine words to end this, lets move on.
