Has anyone paid the big bucks for this light and if you have what do you think of it???????????????????

It has caught my eye and I am considering buying one to light half my tank with in a few months. It has everything I am looking to get me to consider upgrading my lights from AI Sols.

Wayne,

Are you dumping the Maxspects?

You may want to compare this Atlantik with the 24" Reefbreeders Photon. It's less than half the price. I'm not sure there's much difference from a performance standpoint...........haven't researched them.

I don't put any value in having a wireless remote or android capable ect. They're just lights......you set them and that's it.

If you like the Atlantiks, I'd also look into getting their previous model. It may be less without the extra bells and whistles and have the same array.

It's all about performance not the gadgets.

ED, I am checking out the new technology and looking into what would be best. The price is up there and I have to ask is it worth it? The Razors have been good BUT are these others better or not. I am also thinking about going back to heavier on T-5's and lighter on the LED's. I agree the new gadgets can muddy the water also.

I personally consider them to be one of the nicest lights around cash if I needed one I would be getting one but at that price and needing 4 I guess not to realistic. Ive seen 2 over a 125 sps and everything is very happy.

I've got orphek PR-156's, three of them. They kick out some serious light (both actinic and white) but do note- the white is very white.

Sorry for the late response and there is no way while fixture is bigger would i got 1 over a 120. maybe 2 over a 180. They are however very nice and larger than most. Coral reef systems in Columbus carries them.

Sorry Matt, but I disagree. I have not seen the light in person, but they use 1 one a 120 on their product video. I believe the tank they set up at RAP was a 120 as well. The videos show it has enough coverage.

On other forum site they suggest a v1 to cover 48x24x24. They also make the claim that the v2 has a larger spread.

Here is a link on this forum with then suggesting it for a 120 gallon. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2346289

It has a larger spread thats a fact an individual led has the ability to spread across 180 degrees max since it is flush mounted. So it is direct focussed light. The wider across and bigger the fixture vs the wattage the more coverage you are getting. 2 radions over a 180 gallon vs 2 of the v2 fixtures is night and day I guarantee it. I think on a tank like nathens 3 would do the job and maybe on my tank but its weird dimensions which is why I feel the coverage may be a little off.
