osmolater added tunze cal dispensor

after adding the tunze cal dispensor the pump that came with the osmolator is working wierd. it is now loud and if you touch it when it is working it sounds / feels like it is pulsing?

is this normal?
is this ok?

both units are about 7 days old

That doesn't sound normal. I would make sure it is not sitting on the bottom of the reservoir where it can reverberate, it should be suspended. For the pulsing I would check the check valve, make sure it is not pulsing open and close.

Yes, the pump should be touching the reservoir. It will make a lot more noise if it is. Suspend it by the cord. The check valve should open and not flutter, if it opens and closes rapidly while the pump is operating this will cause the pulsing.

ok checked it. it seems that the check valve is the problem. Will Tunze send me a new one or do I have to buy one?

I can send one but I am currently in the process of searching for a better replacement. If you have any airline check valve around you can use that, otherwise I will send one but it is about a 10% chance the new one will do the same thing. Finding a low pressure check valve at a reasonable price that resist kalk has been a real challenge but I hope to find a solution within a couple months. The rubber duck bill check valves you usually find at Petsmart work great but there life is rather short in the kalk, about 6-12 months.
