Osmolator 3155

Today my high level warning was going off. I checked the tank and the eye of the tunze was completely submerged ( normally it rests on top of the water ). I cleaned the eye with vinegar, put it back in position and it runs for awhile, shuts off and then about a minute later it runs again then shuts off. It will do this until it trips the high level warning. Any ideas?

I soaked the sensor all night in vinegar, wiped it with a soft tooth brush. I then put it back in the tank barely touching the top of the water and it has worked perfect all day. Its all good.

I woke up this morning to the lovely sound of a high level warning going off in my tank. My tunze is doing the same thing again. It pumps top off water into my tank every few minutes, ignores the level of my sensor and doesnt stop until it reaches a high level warning. This unit is one of two that I own and has worked perfectly for a couple years. Any suggestions?

Same problem here.

I had the same problem almost a year ago with another unit so I purchased a new one.

It will work for a few days then just goes bonkers. Roger said it could be electrical devices in the area confusing it like lighting. I removed all of those and still have a problem.

I adjusted my sensors on Sunday. Its possible that they got moved by accident.
Since then no problems. I hope the problem is solved.

It can be EMF from a ballast or other device. Even wires to or from the ballast draped near the controller can cause this. Air bubbles on the sensor are another culprit. If there are a lot of bubbles or the sensor isn't straight vertical please check this. It is also possible the sensor is bad or a capacitor that is on the sensor circuit is defecive.

I turned a powerhead away from the surface in the part of the tank were the sensor is. The powerhead makes a rippling efect across the tanks surface. I have always known it could interfere with the sensor but for two years it ran with no problem. Since I turned it away from the surface the osmolator has run with no problems. Thanks.
