Osmolator issue

Hello,

I'm having an issue with my osmolator. When the water level drops, the pump does not turn on and the "too low" red light begins blinking. I've had pumps fail in the past and this is not the same. In fact, I switched the wires connecting the pump to the controller and the pump worked once and then the "too low" issue came back. Therefore, I know the pump works... so, what's the issue, and what can I do to remedy the problem?

Thank you for your help,
Tom

Tom,

How old is the osmolator? If you send it in I will repair/replace it depending on what is wrong, please include the pump and power supply, sometimes a weak power supply or oxidized wiring is the culprit.

rvitko,

The unit was purchased in December of 2007. I've had to replace the pump once or twice in that time.

Thank you for your quick response. I'll package it all up and send it out this week.

Have a great day,
Tom

As an aside...I'm a big Flash Gordon fan, too.

Hello Roger,

I mailed the Osmolator out on Thursday and it should arrive today or Monday. I did not put a letter describing the issue in the box, so I'm hoping that this thread can serve that purpose. You can ID the package as mine by the return address... Tom Alwin in Haslett MI. Thank you again for your help.

Have a great day,
Tom

Tom,

I got the osmolator and I am working on it, do you know if it generally took 10 minutes for the too low light to come on?

Sounds about right.

The main unit would sense the water was too low (yellow light), but the pump would not kick on. I never timed how long the yellow light was on before it switched to blinking red, but 5 to 10 minutes seems about right.

Thanks,
Tom

Thank you!

Thank you!

Hello Roger,

Your customer service has been top notch.

The unit arrived on Friday and was installed that night. It works like a charm!

I see a few parts look to be original and a few are new. I'm curious, what was the issue and is something I can do to avoid this from happening again?

Thank you again,
Tom
