I bought an Osmolator Universal 3155, haven't had a chance to set it up yet but looking throught the manual, I was wondering if it will work with a sumpless system (sensors in main tank) without an Osmomat box?
Yes, but their are some minor issues. Corraline and other algaes will obscure the optical sensor, you have to keep it clean. Snails can be a pain and trip the float switch. Also, it may be necessary to run a slightly lower water level to fit both sensors in.
I have run mine for about 4 months in a sumpless system on a 4x2x2.
It has run faultessly from day 1. Not a single problem from the day I plugged it in. I have not had to touch it. All I do is top up my container when it empties.
