Ostracion solorensis - Reticulate boxfish

Just wondering if you think you might be offering this fish anytime soon.

I know you've had them before in the Diver's Den, but I haven't noticed them recently.

I am considering this fish (if I can find one or even a pair) as a peaceful centerpiece for an established tank that I'm restocking after having moved its inhabitants to bigger tanks. The tank is not big enough for the other boxfishes that are commonly available, but I understand that the reticulates only reach 4 inches.

Thanks.

rssjsb,

Thank you for your post. We will check with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility regarding the availability of a Reticulate Boxfish. We will post as soon as we receive a response. We apologize for the delay.

Rssjsb,

Thank you for your patience as we obtained this information. At this time we do not have any of the Ostracion solorensis in quarantine however we are working on obtaining one. We would recommend keeping an eye on the Diver’s Den, as we would not want you to miss your chance to have these beautiful fish become a part of your aquarium.

Hi - just checking in again to see if you've managed to locate one of these guys. I get the DD email updates and have started getting the RSS feed, but it would be great if I knew that you had one in quarantine so that I could be especially vigilant.

Thanks.

rssjsb,

Thank you for your post. Unfortunately, the availability of the Reticulate Boxfish is sporadic. When this fish is available again, we will bring this fish into our facility. We apologize, however we do not have an estimate date as to when this fish would be available again.
