OT - Any divers looking for new dive buddies?

I lost my dive buddy to a job in Costa Rica. I hate pick up dive buddies on those two dive boat trips so I am looking for some new people to dive with who are locals. Shore, Boat, Drift, Deep, Wreck, Night. I messed my foot up a year ago so I need to refresh but I did 100 dives the year before. I am looking to get back into it again this year with at least once a month dives if not more.

Not that I could hang with you, but my hubby and I are going to get certified (we think) either over spring break or summer from a friend.

My wife was planning on getting certified in a month or so but just broke her ankle so it will not be until the end of the year I bet if not next year.

I love to dive. Anytime, anyplace. Including Hudson Grotto - like diving in a glass of coke, gets darker as you go down

im willing to go diving with you i have mostly cavern experience of about 15 days of diving and 3 dives out at the army tanks. so im not super experienced but love it . if our schedules coincide then id love to go with you let me know

i am PADI certified.i havent dove in a few years but i was thinking of going to the keys for lobster season this year maybe even crystal river for freash scallops.

sounds awesome if ya ned a bud mind if i hitch a ride with ya ill help out with fuel and want not north or south .

ever been to ginnie springs or paradise springs there pretty cool too
and the santa fe drift dive is good for finding "treasure"

no ive just been to the rainbow river.and deff on the split gas thing.hell maybe we can get a group together and do a keys trip.so easy to get the lobsters it isnt fair could even go dive loe key and some of the other reefs and see some rics in the wild.

im diving next week to clean my buddies bot good time to try out my new wet suit =)

ive got my Naui Advanced and almost finished with my rescue and master. always up for some diving, havent been down in a few months and am definatly feeling the itch

I am up for anything. I am having a hard time right now. I want to build a 120 but I also want to buy a bunch of new dive gear. I cannot do both and a bunch of my old gear is missing since I have not used it in a year and moved.

I am also thinking about a couple steel tanks. hmmmm. I want to dive BADLY... it used to be my weekly meditation.

If your up for a freaky dive then Hudson Grotto is it. I felt like I was drifting in space, pure blackness and your lights only go so far then vanish. I was always looking down (think it was down /ha) and wondering what might be down there thinking I was dinner. Was a rush. Its a cold dive with something like a 120' depth. Its a real technical dive in that sense.

I hear the speigal is standing up or something now which should be interesting as well but I admit i am more interested in fish and life than steel but there is always both on the groove. Someone spooked a big fish last time I was down there inside the groove and it jumped out of this black hole and slammed right into me, freaked me out, all I could think about is all those shark movies where they come out of the wreaks real fast

As you can see I love to dive.. I am up for any dive, and will help pay gas or drive.

the hudson grotto sounds pretty cool might have to check that one out i thought paradise was pretty cool at 100 ft with whale bones and sand dollars in freshwater cavern but pitch black and you can accually see where it was once dry and people lived in there pretty cool .

lobster season isnt till like august or so.we have plenty of time to plan something.

I am off on Wed's so maybe we could set up a Wed trip. I need to get my gear checked out and re-certified. Think some of it might even be in Costa Rica right now

Worse case I run out and buy new gear and get wet.

PS where do you guys shop? I have done all of my shopping and dives with Kevin at Our Ocean Dreams in Safety Harbour but I am down in St. Pete now so I am curious if there are any good shops, good prices, dives, etc to be found in St. Pete or even Tampa since I work there.

i usally go to aquatic obsessions on central to get my air filled there real nice in there and its like 3 bucks for a fill not a whole lot in the store but i thin kresonably priced ive also been to bill jacksons and a pace over on baypines aint to bad either .

awsome a wed. dive sounds great well have to plan on something soon .
you can always rent something till you get your gear too
i need to find me a depth gauge or computer before i go again cause it sucks with out one ...
