They arent really good for home defense though cause sure it will knock down the intruder in your house but will also go through the house next to you killing your neighbor also :)

You know Im all about the guns tom, XD40, 12gauge, 410, and various 22's. Im in the process of building a AR15.

I have a 2 S&W(586 & 686) 357 6" with a aimpoint and a 2" also a Colt 45 gold cup Do all my own reloading best bang for the buck

Bayslayer - Cool dude...A couple of my buddies have ar-15's they are nice but california law sucks...We have to go shooting!

Keoni - How do you like that colt? Is it really worth the extra dough?

Theres alot of ways around california law, all you have to do if find somebody with the lower unit and the rest you can buy anywhere and put it together yourself. Lets shoot sometime.

I want to buy a nice 1911 and a nice rifle in .308 then maybe build up an ar

Are you going to the gun show this weekend? Ill be there with some friends on saturday

FOWLER is off of Tustin, past champman, just after Palmyera, ( driving south on tustin it will be on the right hand side )

The Gun show is at the orange county marketplace (fairgrounds) I think the website is www.crossroadsgunshows.com if that doesnt work then google it and it will give you the direction etc etc...

Im not sure what time tomorrow me and my friends will be there but Im sure we will be there when it opens :)

Bayslayer - Fishing is for wussies come to the gun show!

Sorry Tom, the fish are bitting. Theres a gun show at Rohages I think, you can go to turners website and thell have the info but you can demo guns and its on Sunday.

I couldnt ake is Sat morning cause I had a stupid migraine....Im supposed to go today sometime (whenever girlfriend wakes up :( ).

BTW: I bought a Springfield Loaded 1911 .45 yesterday in black stainless......Now I have to wait the stupid 10 days.....dumb california

Hey tom, nice weapon. We can go to the shooting range and test that baby out. At the one in artesia they have a Desert Eagle that ive been waiting to taste. I love the feel of a .45 though. Me and my uncle always go the gun show, but i had to work this weekend, im at work now so i couldnt make it. Have fun

If your looking for home protection your best bet is some type of shotgun. I perfer 12 or 10 gauge myself, but I just like big. Remiongton make the 870 model in a million variaties. they have a great 18" barrel synthetic stock 7+1 shot capacity shotgun (Built on express) for about $300. The reason I wont grab the CZ85 over the shotgun in the house is a shotgun BB's wont go through your walls. A h andgun will, even a .22LR. Shotgun BB's will stay in the wall 9/10 times. I dont now about you guys, but I dont want any bullets hitting other people in the house, next door, or my beloved tank.

Remington 870 Tactical
Remington .22LR rifle
CZ85
Sig22
Berreta9mm
Glock22
Ruger 357 revolver
AK22 (its $199 at turners :-) ) but I woulnt buy it again.

I have a 1944 30 carbin nazi killer made by postal meter and remanufactered by atlanta arsenal. I have the original 30round mag (I believe)
I also have a 12 gauge mossberg pump shotgun
and finally I have a colt combat commander .45, it is a flat chrome with pachmeyer safety and grips, although I removed the grips and replaced them with laser sight grips. The slide has also be hollowed out.
I have the original 7 round mag that came with the gun, and before the ban I purchased a 14 round mag that sticks out the bottom of the grip

I hope all you people with ar-15's (with a pistol grip) have them registered! otherwise it is a felony and the registration period is over so you would have to sell them out of state.

and bayslayer, building an ar-15 will not get you around CA gun laws. If the ar-15 you are building has a pistol grip, then you are building an illegal gun.

True about the shotgun and thats what I like for personal defense also but it doesnt hurt to have the good old 1911 by your side for extra assistance :)

One cool thing about 1911 style 45s is that you can buy a .22 conversion that just drops on.
Scotchmaster, if you want a good .308, look at Howas. They come in a variety of styles and are very accurate.
