Unless things have changed, you can still buy ARs. There was a list of features, that if the gun in question had 3 or more, it had to be regestered. Some of the features were: bayonet lug, flash hider, pisol grip, magazine over 10 rds. Some where on the state web site, you can find the info. That is how colt is still selling them, removed some of the banned features. Silly, to ban something on appearance only. You can buy a ruger mini 14 that shoots the same but looks NORMAL.

while the post ban does fire 223's at the same rate as the preban, they look nothing alike. I saw some of the post ban kinds and they are ugly.

I was debating on purchasing a colt bushmaster when they were legal but was afraid of having to register them at best and at worst having a mandatory buy back. So I went with a Colt Combat commander and I have no worries with registration as the stock clip only holds 7 rounds.

Truthfully, California laws are very stupid when it comes to guns. A 19 year old can with misdamenors can buy an ak47 semi auto but its illegal for him to buy a .22lr handgun that is maybe a few times more powerful than a strong BB gun. Handguns only have 10rds in Cali, Why? The state figures it is less dangerouse for a person to have 10rnds that to have 14. The assault rifle laws are what bug me the most, at least make it a little more difficult to buy them man. just my 2cents.

I ended up going to the gunshow today and it was awesome! I bought a range bag, some ammo for my new .45, and a tactical leg holster.....Only 9 more days!!!!

mossberg 12 guage
remington 700 .270
marlin .22 rifle
and my favorite: smith and wesson model 29 .44 mag that hangs on a houlster on the headboard of my bed right at about box spring height!!!!
