OT: Anybody with a great camera and photography skills & a love of art wanna help?
I took this semester off from college, and in my infinite boredom I decided to pick up my newly inherited (from my Gram that just passed away 4 months ago) box of acrylic paints and paint brushes and see what I could come up with. I have never painted or drawn anything seriously before, except for messing around in kindergarten, and random little stick-figure doodles all over my papers in middle school (who didn't, really...), never taken an art or drawing class before, ect.
Lo and behold, I guess I found a hidden talent that I never knew about, and now I have been doing commission pieces for locals and have just started selling my works online. Very exciting stuff.
The problem is.... while trying to find guidance through a few local art galleries, I have been invited to be in a gallery in Jan. BUT I need at least 10 pieces of work to display. I have been selling the originals, which is what people have wanted to buy, but then they are gone forever and I have no copy for neither my portfolio nor printing purposes.
Considering the amount of AMAZING tank/coral pictures from some of you guys on the forum here, you obviously have some mad camera skills! Soooooo I would love to work something out with somebody if they have a great quality camera with high resolution and shooting skills (my iPhone just really won't cut it here...) Maybe a pay-per-piece? Idk, but I'm just at the point where if I let more originals go, I won't have anything to display. I have a friend who works for the company that does prints on canvas for the Dali museum, so once I get a high res. copy of my work I have no problem getting it printed, they just don't photograph anything larger than the scanner can hold in-house.
Either that or if anybody knows any kind of services or places that do this without charging me an arm and a leg? I wouldn't mind paying full price for it, but I just reaaaaaally don't have the money. I'm new at this, like, very new. I do, however, already have a waiting list for people who would like to buy my work, so I know that with the right resources, this could really work out awesome in the long run.
Samples of my present work:
iPhone picture, it's blurry, just take a look at the blurriness in the signature :/
14"x11"
Acrylic on canvas board
Work in progress...keep in mind IT IS NOT FINISHED, and I know where it needs work (left shoulder, arm color, hair, background...) picture taken with my iPad, idk why but the iPad always obscures pictures, like it looks smushed, and the resolution is TERRIBLE. Even the iPhone takes better pics!!
Pre-sold
