Well 6 years in high school and 3 years in college of Ceramics courses was so much fun.:bounce1: Does anyone on here have wood kilns, potters wheels, etc. etc.? I have been looking around the area and places are pricey just to spin up a nice piece and to cook them. Just checking out to see if there are any other potters here.

hitting on an unfullfilled dream of mine here....i loved working the wheel in art class in college....in fact, that's the only class i never blew off.

You went to high school for 6 years?

huh? what sarcasm am i missing here....:hmm5:

(actually, i only went to high school for 3 years...the last year i already had all my credits...so i just took electives.)

nevermind. Mr? you went to high school for 6 years?

Haha, no I just didn't feel like putting Junior High and High School. 7th-12th grade I did the classes. I was in Advanced Independent Studio by 11th grade and had to take it twice because they had nothing higher to offer....lol. Then college I was a small fish in a big pond again and sort of focused more on school than fun.:(

Good point out Gary!! Never realized that.

Kat-My Senior year was Study Halls Galore!! We had block scheduling so 4 classes a day meant lots of social time for me.:bounce1:

ha. yeah, mine too. they didn't even miss me when i'd skip. and i graduated 4th in my class...how this happened...i have no idea. lol.

Well I didn't graduate anywhere near the top of my class, maybe pushing I think 150...haha. Out of about 400 so it was not too bad.

sorry can't say i'm into it...but I am into Demi :)

I'm not into ceramics, but I have an electric kiln that I'm looking to get rid of! My mom used to be into ceramics, so my dad bought her a kiln. Well, long story short is that dad's dead, my mom gave the kiln to my sister, she asked me to store it at my house which I have for the past 5+ years, and sometime in the last year my sister informed me that she didn't want it, so it is still taking up space in my basement.

I can't remember what model it is off the top of my head, but it is in really nice shape even though it's old (it's probably 30 years old at this point, but my mom didn't really use it much - I'm guessing it was fired less than a dozen times).

If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll post the model, a pic, and a fair asking price...

Sorry to hear that Jason. Yeah, that sounds like an old kiln. Feel free to post something up about it on this thread so someone can take a look at it. Once I get my house I will be setting up studio and building a huge wood kiln in the yard.

Mike, from another thread I now know that my kiln is older than you are! :lmao:

Lol I knew what you meant. :p

I took a ceramics class in hs, I was horrible at it. A lot of what I made never made it out of the kiln in one piece.

Post a pic of some of your work!
