...willing to drive to Maricopa?
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think it would be this hard for me to hire a tile installer. I'm trying to have a kitchen tile backsplash installed, but because it's a pretty small, basic job, and because it's in Maricopa, I just keep hearing "sorry - not worth my time."
Really?
And some of the folks that I've been talking to are currently out of work, and want "any job blah blah blah." As soon as I mention Maricopa, suddenly it's not worth their time.
I mean, come on. It's not THAT far, and it's not like I wouldn't pay for gas (I even offered to pay gas AND mileage to one!). But it seems like a lot of people think that Maricopa is practically to Tucson.
Anyway. What I'm needing an installer for is a pretty basic backsplash install job. It's about 28 square feet of horizontal lay stone mosaic (2"x2" tiles) with the occasional accent tile insert inline with the mosaic pattern (total of three outlets on those walls), and about 7 square feet of diagonal lay 6"x6" stone tile with a premade border.
This is pretty much a weekend job, not a huge deal. But it IS something. I'd do it myself but am not confident in my abilities to work around the electrical outlets, nor am I confident in my ability to do a diagonal lay above the stove.
If ANYONE knows a reputable installer that wouldn't mind an easy weekend job, please toss me a PM.
