OT: Best High Def recorder with DVD recorder?

Hi,

My neighbor just pickup a standalone DVD recorder that records DVD/CDs to its hardrive, then it can play the DVD off its HD. Would you know of a site with such cool DVD and High Def stuff

What do you think of the Pioneer 300DVD player or the LITE-On DVD recorders?
