Went camping over the weekend.. missed the big storm that we had here in St. Louis Saturday night. but got pounded around 5am Sunday morning. The good thing is, as hard as it rained everything stayed dry, but I do have a few little spots I need to touch up. And since it rains every time I go camping..... No lets rephrase that... since it POORS every freaking time I go camping  and it has been a couple years since I water proofed the tent that I should just do it all again, but there has to be an easier way than what I did last time with all those little spray cans. The tent is 19x14.

Thanks

You could try spraying it with Scotchguard. I know I've seen it for sale in BIG spray cans before.

I don't know how long it would last if your tent is exposed to the sun so you might want to spray it each time you use it.

Seems like MANY years ago I got A bottle of stuff at a trailer/camper suplly place that I hooked up to the hose like weed-be-gone, and sprayed it. All I did was hose it down with the stuff and let it dry for a day and it was done. Sorry I don't remember anymore about it but call Apache Village or one of the other RV suppliers around. I got it from E&J rv's in Belleville but they are long since gone......

Lonnie, buy the chem. bulk & usa a garden sprayer, or i have a airless paint sprayer you can borrow to apply it.

lmk

I have heard of people using CWF deck sealer or canvas tarp preservative (you can get the tarp pres. from rural king in highland come in a gallon can.

what ever product you use (i typically use camp-dry), make sure you get the seams well. most tents leak at the seams.

Yeah i always get the seams really good the only thing I didn't know is you are also suppose to the the seams sealed on the inside of the tent..

Right now I only have one seam that is leaking but a lot of that had to do with the tent not being pulled tight on the bottom when it was put up and was holding water on the seam.
