Just wanted to share some of the amazing photos I got while in Costa Rica the past two weeks.

Orb Weaver Spiders

Male Basilisk

Scarlet Macaw

Female Basilisk

Random Fish Shot

Humpback Whales

Scarlet Macaws

Fruit Bats:

Fantastic pics. Nice to see macaws in the wild. I have been to Ecuador and PR. Both were just breath taking. For anyone who has not left the country. Do it. You wont want to come back

Nice pics, the fish is a rooster fish. Looks like you were down in the osa peninsula. One thing that will open your eyes for sure is to get out and travel

Looks like some sort of Jack to me. Maybe a Pacific Crevalle? I catch the gulf version of those all the time :)

Yes David, we were down on the Osa Peninsula. Didn't have a chance to check out volcanoes. I was there with a group of my students for a study abroad program. They spent 10 days catching, tagging, measuring, and collecting samples on Green and Hawksbill Sea Turtles. We worked the the Latin American Sea Turtle (LAST) group and a group called WIDECAST. The students had an amazing time.

Here are some more photos of the actual work my students did while there...

This was the only new turtle we caught while there. He was tagged on both front flippers and the volunteers with WIDECAST took a small tissue sample from the back foot for genetics studies.
