Bodie is a gold rush ghost town in the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains near Mono Lake, east of Yosemite National Park.

Oh... My... God... Those are the best pics I have ever seen in my entire life time! How did you get the mood so nice? the clouds in the beckround really give it this sppoky, and alone feeling. Plus they are so crystal clear! What camera are you using? These look like $500 pics to me... I am dead serious. I cant even express how much I love these pics... HOLY CRAP!!!

thanks binaryterror, if you don't mind I'll respond after I'm done uploading all the pics

Possibly the best moment of the trip, on our way home from along Tioga Pass we made a new friend

binaryterror, thanks. The cam is a Canon 5D, and I used a 24-70 lens for all the pics yesterday and processed the images in Photoshop. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time and am just starting to learn how to take pictures, and I appreciate your comments. It was supposed to be 100F out and we were originally planning to hike up to Gaylor Lake from Tioga pass but decided to go over the pass down to Bodie when the trail head turned out to be semi flooded and a stream of melting snow and we saw all the nice looking clouds off to the east. It was pretty sunny out mid day and got progressively darker and cloudier over the course of the afternoon and rained as we were leaving Bodie to head home. We had originally planned on trying to catch sunset at Olmstead Point but wanted to get back fairly early.

Sweet! Beautiful pics all. The compositions from Bodie were great- and boy did you get some sweet light while you were there. I'm jealous :p
