OT::::: Easiest major in school

There is no point in attending college just to get a piece of paper. All that will get you is a pile of debt, a bunch of wasted time, or both. Find a major that interests you and work at it. The degree is important to have, but if you actually LEARN something, you will be far far better off.

Plenty of people take the approach of finding the easiest major and coasting through. They have a rude awakening afterward that their degree is worth less than the paper it's printed on.

So true. I know many people who are "Art" and "photography" majors, who work at coffee shops. They figured just some piece of paper would make them successful, but it doesnt.

(I would listen to the PhD student ;) ) lol

Lindsay Lohan? : )

totally agreed w/ bromion and jflip... for those suggesting 'study what you love' look at all the kids straight out of college w/ their soc, psych, anthro or philos degrees with absolutely no direction, leads or opportunities. that's just flat out poor advice.
calculate the cost of tuition these days at any decent school. calculate the cost of moving and the rent in that area. keep in mind that any serious full time student will not be able to hang w/ a full time job by any stretch of imagination. if you're investing 4 years and tens of thousands of dollars, you better be getting a degree that will land you a real and viable career.
business or finance degrees are pretty worthless these days... everyone knows how bad things are in that sector. i also know a handful of kids getting out of top tier law schools who just passed the bar and even then can't find work- after investing over 200k in their education. choose wisely, man.
a bachelors engineering degree can get you in the door to a lot of 80k+ jobs out there.

Join the military - I was a Staff SGT. in the Army before I got out working as a Combat Medic, wouldn't trade the experience for the world.

Otherwise, look into vocational type programs - dental assistants/hygenists make 50 dollars an hour starting (my sister just graduated).

Nurses make good money, if you can hack it Paramedics make good cash as well, and you can get your EMT-B in about 3 months...

If you're afraid of getting stuck in a war try and get signed up as an officer - they make fantastic money for doing just about nothing, and you get a college education while you're in.

An officer in the army does what exactly? Ive always thought the army was a good idea. Go in, get some life lessons, get paid while doing so, pay for college. The careers in the army as well are great, with good benefits and retirement plans. Sounds cool to me. But theres always more too it... im afraid to find out.

Paramedics make roughly 30 dollars an hour - EMT's make garbage.

An officer in the military does whatever he's assigned to do. Until you make Captain expect to just be doing paperwork at a desk, after that you can be doing anything from running an entire company on a TRADOC base (that's roughly 500 soldiers and some high ranking NCO's) to operating a platoon oversea's.

If you're looking for career experience it is better to go NCO in my opinion - there are a slew of career's out there. You can even go as far as getting a nursing license in about a year's time as a Combat Medic under an E6 ASI.

If you're really interested in it PM me about it and ask whatever you'd like. It's not nearly as scary or hard as Hollywood makes it out to be...

I LOVE IT!!!

Business and finance degrees might be worthless today, but he's not graduating today. Today's environment is unheard of. If he's graduating in 2-4 years with a finance/accounting/econ degree from a good school I'm sure he'll find a job.

In fact, accounting is one of those fields that is always hiring.

Look into being a electrician...I made over $100,000 last year and I dont even have a degree. Everyone that I know who has graduated from some sort of a UC or State College make about $10-15 per hour(not even in their major), and have a loan to pay back. And they thought I was the 'stupid one' for not going to college......
