OT Flowers

Reef Bass

colors and textures
I'm a couple thousand miles away from my tanks helping my mother recover from brain surgery (She's doing great! Freakin' unstoppable she is). The outpouring of well wishes and bouquets has been phenomenal. I started pointing my camera at some of the flowers and soon had to whip out my macro lens. As I was shooting, I noticed how similar shooting macros of flowers is to shooting macros of corals. Colors and textures! Then I saw Jesse's lovely floral images and so here we are.

Very nice. You now see what I do in flowers. It will never end!!!! Question though. 1,2, and 5 are irises, 4 looks like a celousa, (sp), what the heck is that in number 3??????

Thanks Jesse. Yeah, flowers deserve macro respect for sure.

You'll notice I didn't identify any of them as I wasn't sure what #3 or 4 were! Hadn't seen those before. One bouquet had some particularly unique items, including those two. So thanks for identifying 4 for me.

Trying to describe 3, it was basically a T shape about 4 inches long and roughly 1/2" in diameter, except for the top. There were a couple of them in the bouquet and one of the others had 3 projections from the top, so the T form may not be uniform. They looked as though the tiny super densely packed blossoms open from bottom to top.

Thanks Grant. I could not have asked for a better recovery for her. She even got the Dr's ok to drive again!

And thanks SushiGirl for the kind words.
