OT: Free Cat

Hello! My friend Pat runs an animal rescue, I just talked to her, she said if you would drop the kitty to me with any vet records & a brief history, she will happily find Bubba a home! =) I will check my pm's tomorrow morning if your are interested!

i foswtered for the newington humains society and they are really good. They only kill if the dog or cat has a major uncurable issue. I remember that i fostered a cat that had a moderate/severe neurological problem and they actually found him a good home

Just so you know, my vet told me (because im allergic to cats and I have 2) that for people who have allergy to cat saliva (not dander) there is a new way to make a cat non-allergenic. Theres a tranquilizer called Ace Promazine. If you use two drops of it in the cats food once a day, the drug can denature the cats salivary protiens and make them non-allergenic. I have the formulation but haven't tried it yet. It sounds like a long shot but its a new discovery...perhaps its worth a shot.
If he is allergic to the dander, it wont help though....

I am not sure if the same holds true for cats as dogs but Aze Promazine will also cause seizure's for dogs prone to them. I learned this the hard way. My dog never had a seizure prior to giving him the med. I am not saying that it is not worth trying in order to keep the family pet, but just keep a watchful eye.....

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, allergy shots and treatment are not an option and the last thing I want to do right now is make my husband tolerate a cat when he's laid up at home with a fractured ankle. I tell ya, when it rains, it pours :(

WOO HOO!! Bubba's getting a new home with one of my coworkers tonight! Thanks to everyone who was willing to lend a hand finding him a new home. I'm SO HAPPY! :D

Congrats

Congrats

I must add: My wife told me that if I were allergic to cats I would just have to suck up and deal with it. Luckily I am not. We have 5 of them. Tough love. I wish Bubba the best.
