OT - Geese Returning

One of the benefits of pulling an all nighter is that in the wee hours...about 2 hours ago...it's dead quiet outside.

Was looking up at the stars, noticing that the spring constellations are coming into view and heard the geese.

While only a 1/4 moon, it was still bright enough to illuminate them (hundreds) as they crossed the sky in a line. If any of you remember Star Trek Generations...it looked like the Nexus. Quite the sight.

Spring is on its way!

Why are geese so dumb. Why would you come back from the south in march. If I were a goose i would wait till at least the end of april and leave near the end of august. Thats just me though

they're canadian geese...maybe they like the cold...i will be anxiously waiting for the chicks, however. got some awesome pics a couple of years ago.

When they talk about going south they make it about halfway into the fingerlakes and end up circling my house all winter. The coyotes around here stick their noses up at them.

nesting season is around the c<a href="http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll236/585jdunbar/?action=view&current=DSC01898.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll236/585jdunbar/DSC01898.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>orner. wife makes some killer burrito's(my son's favorite)

Hey block, I had someone give us some goose and it was terrible. Do you think they just prepared it incorrectly?

yep. goose is really close to liver. almost 0 fat. moist cooking methods or serve med rare. sorry if i offend. i'd rather go green and eat them, than drive over them at the mall. young birds are very tender, old birds need more tlc.
