great post from kb's site:
Even though it was a game 1 loss on the road I think LA will benefit over a series stretch from what happend yesterday. They did the following. I'm sure theres more so feel free to add if ya want. I think LA surprized them. Dont give Radmon 3 fouls in the 1st quarter so the D didnt have to switch up the match ups so early and hit a few more free throws and its a different outcome.
1. exposed the Celtics for being weak on the pick and roll.
2. Made Rondo have to take jump shots.
3. Forced KG to be a jump shooter and take him away from the basket
(most of the time).
4. Found out their stamina level isnt as high as perceived. Sam Cassel fell of, Perkins got hurt, Pierce (even though questionable if real or not) did to. Over 7 games they will look run down.
5. Discovered that even when LA is shooting terrible were still in the game.
6. That Bostons best defense of the year, wasnt all that great. Lots of break downs, LA just needs to shoot better and hit when WIDE OPEN. LA shot 41.6%. Boston 42.1%. So if LA hits 43% and plays with the same defensive intensity, LA can win by 8.
7. That when KB gaurds Allen, Allen doesnt exist offensivly.
8. That Farmar can out run the entire Boston team. When he was playing he looked so fast in the half court.
9. That D-Fish can get the open J against Cassell or Rondo any time he feels like it.
10. That when Lamar was gaurding Pierce, PP wasnt effective. Again fouls changed the defensive match up.
11. That if Pau is hitting the 10-12 foot jumpers, KG comes out, and that opens up the interior passing.
12. that Pierce needs to fake a injury and be carried off the court, placed in a wheel chair and be pushed to the locker room, and then make a MIRACLE recovery in 8 minutes, run back to the court with his arms up like hes Rocky Balboa to inspire the Boston crowd. Even the Boston fans saw the weekness. To bad for them they allready pulled that card out of the deck.
13. That even though Boston won, it felt like they needed to steal a home victory. There was no dominance.
14. That even though the big ticket got off to a great start, hes just a guy that will put up the low 20's. Hes not going to get 50....or 40....or probably not 30.
Its like KB said at half time, "Were all just feeling each others game out to see what the other guys going to do".
Now they know. Sunday LA is going to win.
