OT: Go Lakers!

okay.... lost $25 tonight ($5 extra because I thought there would be a good chance they were going into overtime).

but my team won.

now if the Spurs win the series I will be one ****ed off loser.

Okay, for all you people who actually believed that Kobe planned to come back from 20 points down, more power to you. If the Lakers lost the game, and 9 out of 10 times they would have, you guys would have sang a different tune and would have taken him to the chopping blocks.

But oh well, I lost so blah blah blah

I decided to DVR the game, cook and eat dinner, walk the dogs then watch it. So dang many timeouts towards the end of the games when you watch them live. Couldn't check back in here and it's a good thing I didn't. I'd have lost a double sawbuck for sure.

My thought was some of the Kobe laying low the first half was part of the plan. By midway through the 3rd SA was sure it was over. They were taking a bunch of low percentage shots trying to put it even further away when all they really needed to do was make a few shots in the paint. The Laker D really surprised me. So many times the Lakers seem to score at will but can't get back in time to stop the equalizer shots. But I guess SA doesn't offer much in the way of a fast break, more like a "leisure world" break.

I just think all the other players looked at Kobe and pointed at their new watches to tell him "IT'S TIME NOW!"

And Popovich was just crying cause he didn't get one.

that was a truly sick performance... 27 points on bowen and udoka should count for at least double.

i think once he missed his first shot (very well contested by bruce the pest) he decided he was gonna show something different. drive and kick, drive and kick... after awhile it looked like bowen felt fatigued- even if it was just mentally- seeing so many of those drives result in an assist for kobe, or a pass that leads to an assist. then when bowen went to the bench kobe lit up udoka; and by the time bowen came back in, it was just too late for the spurs.

sasha was sick. did you see his d? he looked like a premier defender all game long. made me think... remember that finals series against the sixers (2000?)? in practice they had tyronne lue imitating iverson- running the ball down the defense's throat, taking really quick athletic shots and layups... then in the games, lue ended up being the most effective defender on iverson and making a solid offensive contribution as well.

you think sasha's the mock bowen in recent practices?

wow today was crazy

The unsettling fact if you're a lakers fan is that you know San Antonio can and most likely will come back in game 3 & 4.

Props to the Lakers. Whoo hoo.
