OT: Just curious... anyone out there play multiplayer RPG's?

I've heard of those games before, but I don't play any of them... sorry. I like playing RPGs, but more times than not, I play Final Fantasy games to quench my RPG thirst... just not the MMORPG Final Fantasy games (like FFXI).

From the people that I know who do play those games, they sound like they take up a lot of spare time.

I think those games are probably best for people with out jobs, family, school or a social life or those willing to sacrifice to take their time to waste on a game.

Yea I guess if you got addicted to them. Just depends on the person.

I play some games, but no 'dungeon' type games. Mostly war type (Battlefield 2142, Company of Heroes). I've recently played the Crysis beta, but don't like it much. I also recently gave up my game-playing time to devote myself to fishkeeping (hopefully one day: reefkeeping). It is much more rewarding, IMHO.

If i had a computer that didn't suck a$$ so much i ight try playing those games. Whenever i think of WOW i think of that one south park Episode.

i like team fortress 2.

Same here. Great game. Portal was really good as well. Crysis Beta is awesome but it destroys my machine. ET:QuakeWars was fun for about 2 hours.

I used to play Eve Online for a few years (*gasp*), but now i'm not playing any MMOs anymore. Anybody want to buy a really nice Eve char with 3+ years of training? :D

Now i'm stuck on Xbox 360 and Guitar Hero.

I know the feeling... other than Guitar Hero 3 and skate, my Xbox 360 doesn't get many other games played on it.

Somewhat off-topic, but did you get the "meet your maker" (beat any of the GH3 creators at their own game) achievement unlocked? I got that achievement unlocked on my HDD this past weekend...

Haven't had the time. Just playing around with it more than anything. My TV/Xbox is currently torn down because I put a 125g fish tank where it used to be. Now i've got to get the 125 set up and running so I can empty out the 46g and put the TV there.

I don't play many games on the computer, due to the fact my computer sucks @ss just like bignick's. I mostly play Halo3 over the internet... I get a kick about the seven year olds on that game swearing.

N3gative Cr33p - what's your favorite GH3 song? this one is a huge improvement over guitar hero 2. Have you played Rocks the 80's yet? kinda curios as to how that is.

Yeah but for some reason I still play them ... despite getting my butt handed to me by those who can invest massive amount of hours.

Okay, I guess I'm the huge nerd here. I played EQ, EQII, Shadowbane, SWG, Guild Wars and WoW. I also beta test everything I can get into. I just got done about six months of beta testing Tabula Rasa and Pirates of the Carribean Online. Oh, and I also have a job, wife and daughter. I only play at night when they are both in bed.

I played Shadowbane and really enjoyed it...wasn't a huge time sink and was great for more casual gamers. Played WOW for a couple of months and realized if you didn't have 20 hours a week to sink into it wasn't worth playing because the good gear takes hours and hours and hours to get...not a lot of fun. Also played SWG and thought it sucked.

When I have the time now I prefer games like Medieval total War, which I can fit around my schedule.

Only RPG's I REALLY got into were the Final Fantasy Series. Now I'm a Halo, Guitar Hero guy, with a little Madden or NHL games sprinkled in here and there. I do still like my video games. It's a nice brain escape. After a tough day, dealing with people that do not want to see you and say and do only the "best" things, sometimes it's nice to step away from reality for a minute to let it all out.

Rock the 80's is kinda lame, IMO, but in all honesty, I think the PS2 versions of GH are not nearly as well made as they are for the 360.

I love Guitar Hero 3 on 360. My favorite songs have to be The Seeker by The Who and The Metal by Tenacious D. Hey, Cr33p, when are we going to Duel?

I am a 5 year recovering MMORPG addict. :) I think the south park episode is dead on. Currently RC is the only "group" computer activity my sponsor will let me near - Seriously though - I wasted a lot of good drinking time by being on those games...I also wasted a HUGE amount of money on my PC to keep up - I'm glad that aquariums are so inexpensive.
