Free to good home, a 3 or 4 years old purebred lop-ear bunny. Very friendly. Doesn't mind being held. Will run up to you like a dog. Free to a good home. We will include the cage.

Background: My father-in-law developed terminal cancers (Yes- cancers. He has three different types of cancer). His doctor has given him a diagnosis of 2-12 months, with the low end being more likely. The in-laws will be moving in with us so that my wife and I can take care of them. Due to chemo therapy, the doctor wants us to have a sterile environment at home. We have to get rid of most of our pets - including our two dogs. We have found a temporary home for our dogs, but we still need a home for our bunny. As you can imagine, this unexpected situation has turned our whole life upside-down.

So if anyone is interested in the bunny, please let us know. We want the bunny to go to a home. We didn't post to CL because we don't want to risk it becoming snake food. (Yes - I am serious.)

I will try to post some pictures later.

PS - Although I am losing my office and my fish/scuba room, my wife doesn't want me to break down the tank. It might be the only thing that will keep me sane. :P

So sorry to hear about your father-in-law's illness, Minh. Good on you and your family for making this life-changing adjustment for him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all!

Kevin,

We are looking for a permanent adoption. Hopefully someone with young kids that would enjoy playing with the bunny.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. This has been really hard on the family, but we are fortunate that we at least have some time to say by to my father-in-law.

Minh

Minh, I could care for your bunny for you while you're dealing with this situation if you'd like. I could hold on to him for as long as you need (if you choose to go that route).

I have a 4 and 7 yr old girls that would absolutely love him. I got rid of the pythons years ago so thats not a worry.

PM sent

I haven't had a chance to talk with the school yet, they have quite a few animals already though, if you find a good home for him in the mean time go ahead :) but I'll try and talk to the school daycare if you don't :).

Well, it's as I thought, the school daycare has too many pets as it is (7 in just the one side!) so they don't want to add a bunny :(. A student showed interest, but of course we don't know how the parent would feel about that! ;).

Thanks for the bunny Minh! The girls absolutely love him. They immediately made him a bed and a special area. They also Re-named him Marley Bob (Marley after the movie,I dont know where bob came from) and refuse to switch it to Bob Marley.
Thanks again, He will be well taken care of.
