You can't have it both ways...as you're argument for KG getting MVP would've worked against Iverson during his MVP season. The Spurs had a better record than the Sixers that year...and Duncan had a much more impressive stat line.

...and that's why the MVP goes to the best player on what's considered the best team...not to the player that's most important to their team. Otherwise, Durant would have garnered MVP consideration, and that's just wrong.

Iverson getting MVP was just wrong:D
 
i dont think u can compare those situations to durants...not even close one bit...his team still sucked and taking him off it would not have mad a difference at all...but i dont totally disagree with the iverson thing but his team did get futher that year then the spurs did lol

To place a funny spin on the 'most important to the team' thing...Kwame would be the Lakers MVP. Without his overblown, expiring contract, there's no way the Gasol trade would've worked...saving a season that was lost after Bynum went down.

There is no way that you can say the LJ is better than Kobe. How about the one thing you guys are overlooking . . . DEFENSE! Kobe plays it, LJ is learning how to play it. Today, at the end of the game, I'd take Kobe over LJ anyday. In 5 years or so, I might have a different opinion. I don't think the Lakers could have one those Championships without Kobe either. Everyone says that Kobe always had Shaq, but then again Shaq always had Kobe (or D-Wade). Kobe is always going to have people who hate him because he is so good. Bottom line is this Kobe - 3 rings and on his way to 4, LJ - 0!!! Oh and there is no way in H377 that the Lakers would have made it to where they were this year without Kobe!!!!!!
 
there no way the spurs make it with out duncan, the celtics make it with kg, so that means nothing second..kobe has always had a team around him! who has lbj had??? wally lol give me a break you give lbj shaq when shaq was good and they win 5 6 maybe even 7 ships in a row kobe is a ball hog..lbj more of a team player and has done a lot with a lil...you give lbj a team and its over
 
If I told you before the season started that the Lakers would be the number 1 seed at the end of this season, you would have laughed at me, slapped me, and then taken all of my corals away for saying something so outrageous! Oh and Karl, I think you might be right about Kwame!!! ;) Where's Rob and John?! I need some help here!!! ;) ;) ;)
 
LOL okay u got me on that one BUT i knew they would be good and getting gasol put them over the top...BUT u didnt have anything to say about giving lbj shaq in his prime lol u put lbj on the lakers when they had shaq and OMG it would be nasty
 
Don't get me wrong...I am a fan of Kobe. If anything, he's the most gifted player offensively...right now. I just firmly believe that if Lebron and Kobe switched places...the Lakers would have a better record, and Kobe will be in jail for the murder of Danny Ferry.
 
The problem is if Kobe scored the last 25 points then he is considered selfish.........Lebron does it and he is King. Its all about Image, Kobe has a bad Image with people so that blinds most (not yours Karl) people's view of him as a player.

Lebron and Kobe are very similar in the way they started, both great players getting to play with the big boys and they were just kids. I'll give Lebron a few more years before I pass judgement. IMO Kobe is a better shooter and defender then Lebron but with Lebron's speed and size he should be able to score 50 a night or more ( I will say though I have seen Kobe play alot more then I have seen Lebron)
 
BUT kobe shots WAY more then lbj plus lbj averages more assist a game....all i was saying is give lbj a center as good as shaq was and u have your new dyNASTY lol
 
It would be tough to choose between Kobe and LJ. As i agree with LJ on lakers and you lose nothing.

But, In all honesty i do think Kobe deserved the MVP. But for sure Chris Paul was also deserving.
 
I agree that if LJ had Shaq, in his prime, he probably would have some rings also. I'll give you that. Now I have a question for you (again lol), do you guys think that LJ could do what he does, carry a team to the finals, if he was in the Western Conference? I don't think he could, but I just wanted tot hrow it out there for discussion sake and to throw another log on the fire
 
o god yes if u put him on any of the teams that made the playoffs in the west yes, i think if u take the best player off any of the playoff teams and put lbj on it they are better or at least the same...i think ur just trying to make me mad LMAO i dont even like either of these guys im an allan houston type guy LMAO
