OKTOBERFEST
Nightly, September 10 to October 29 - Old World Village, Huntington Beach
A touch of old Europe awaits shoppers at the unique Old World Village in Huntington Beach , it is a shopping, dining and entertainment center, built in the image of a Bavarian village. Old World was the creation of Joe Bischof and when it first opened its doors in September 1978, it was an instant hit. From then on Huntington Beach has had a very unique tourist attraction that is found nowhere else in Orange County . You can strut your chicken dancin' stuff, soak up generous quantities of suds and food, and in general let your hair down at this old-style German village in HB. Includes live bands, dancing, beer drinking contests, German food, and lots of fun. Don’t miss the Dachshund “Weiner dog” races… On Sunday, September 10 2pm they host an opening benefit for a local HB charity and pass around food to get things started…. break out the Lederhosen and get ready to yodel !!!!
Old World Village is on Center Street right off the 405 Fwy, pretty close to where Beach crosses the 405. It's open Wed-Sun and admission charges range from free to $10 depending on the day and time. Watch the website and pubs like OC Weekly for free admission coupons. Call (714) 647-1911 for details or the website www.oldworld.ws/okfest.html
