OT...OMG Japan !!!

I just clicked on CNN, the tsunami after the quake has left me speechless. My best wishes to the residents there.

I was just getting the the TOTM thread... "My name is Eric Yao and I live in Hong Kong"... Some of that CNN footage is unreal.

I have a brother in law in Hawaii, he said they are okay as of 30 minutes ago...

Prayers and deep concern for the horror our friends in Japan are facing.

Latest Fox report notes over 1,000 dead and 80,000 missing.Nuclear reactor problem sounds a bit ominus as well. 7 of 11 are shut down. Pressure building from cooling system failures in one and they are doing a controlled radiation leak

They are still taking after shocks.

This is so sad. They have so many things to deal with right now, Search and recue, displaced people, fixing infastructure, damaged nuclear power plants....my prayers are with this people...

it's horrific.

I've been having nightmares about a really big quake hitting for about a year now. I don't know much about plate tectonics and I haven't researched anything on the subject but (how can I put this?) if I lived in California right now I would get out.

I will be praying for the people and country of Japan.

All of a sudden upstate ny is not so bad. I experienced a small/med size quake when I was a kid, not fun. Still remember a 10 story building shaking like a tree.

WNY sits on a major fault line. Thankfully its dormant...for now.

Praying for all whether there living through it or elsewhere dealing with potential loss of family and friends. There are some things that wouldn't be wished upon a worst enemy... and this event is one.

I'd love to find out where those "in the know" desire to live. The more I debate it... Texas doesn't seem half bad. :)
