OT RANT: Wendy, that little red head

What the heck. Has anybody else recently visited the formerly awesome fast food joint founded by the one and only Dave Thomas? You know what Im talking about, Wendy's.

I previously loved this place. Cheap food made quickly half the time correctly.

Anywho this is a real life conversation: not dramatic acting

Drive thru hostess (DTH): Welcome to Wendy's I can take your order when your ready

Me: I will take a Junior Bacon Cheeseburger, a 4 piece nugget, a value fry, and two jr cheeseburger deluxe with no pickle no onion.

DTH: We no longer have those can I get you something else
Me: Huh?
DTH: We no longer have those can I get you something else
Me: two jr cheeseburger deluxe with no pickle no onion.
Wife: they dont have those anymore
Me: What, How, now what do I get?
Me: Just a minute (actually 5)
Me: I guess Ill have a double stack and a jr chicken sandwhich

how does a place like that discontinue the jr cheeseburger deluxe? Everything on that sandwhich is still in the kitchen.

Im torn between never going back or just using trickery but still I'm very saddened.

Next visit I will order a junior bacon cheeseburger with no bacon, no pickles add ketchup. In your face wendy. I will of course start with ordering the jr cheeseburger deluxe just so I can show my anger at them.
 
It is very possible that the drive thru operator was just an idiot :) I would go inside and verify next time.

I know some places are changing up their value menus (maybe she got confused). McD's doesn't have the double cheeseburger on the value menu anymore since they raised the price. But they do have the mcdouble now, whatever that is.

Though, there is the possibility that the jr chz delux wasn't selling well at that store so they stopped offering it at that one store.
 
Sounds like research is in order.
I'll cover the nine stores that are within 10 miles of my house.

HE'S NOT LYING. the cheapo menu is history. i came across the same thing last night. i like to grab a jr. bacon cheeseburger to tie me over for the long haul home and it's gone. you know they have to be losing money on those things like crazy. it seems like everyone going through the drive up is ordering from the "dollar" menu these days. i hear them while i'm waiting in line. i dont know about you, but i have a hard time ponying up $4+ dollars for a plain old, run of the mill hamburger. you used to be able to get a single for a couple bucks. now that thing is over $3.
why God, why???
 
OMG its spreading like wild fire. Taco Bell no longer offers the big box meal. *** is the matter with the world. :mad2: And subway has cut back on which subs now qualify as $5 footlongs.
 
The difference between the double cheese burger and the mcdouble is one slice of cheese or two(i had to ask) creating a 19 cent difference in price. lol
 
OK... how can we bring this back to a quasi-reef related discussion....

How about the filet-o-fish. That's some nasty sauce!
 
Hey, I actually like the Fillet O' Fish! Not all the time, but it's a once-in-a-while thing.

What I'm sad about is I can't get a cheeseburger from McD's for $0.49 anymore...ah, those were the days.
 
yep I hit the MCd's the other day and found out. sucks
I order off the real menu at the Bell or Wendy's, cuse it's an 1.5 hour drive to find one :( got to make it worth the drive.
