OT - RC Airplanes

Did you ever find a plane? If so are you going flying this weekend. I hope to get some flying in but first I have to work on the yard some today. :(

Oh, if you guys ever need to order some batteries I have gotten some really cheap ones from HobbyKing in Hong Kong. I have been using the Turnigys from them and have been really happy with them. Shipping is pretty expensive if you only order a battery or two but sometime maybe we could get a group order together and save on shipping.

Yep, got me a plane last night. Harrier 3D with OS 4 stroke. Got my radio installed, programmed the mixes and just need to adjust the servo throw on the throttle and elevator (dual surface / servo). Going to get some fuel today, will run up the engine later to make sure the idle and everything is adjusted properly, and hopefully go flying tomorrow!

That's exactly where I was planning on ordering from, Mike. :)

And that rocks, Zach! Pics are required. :)

I think I am going out Monday but don't know about tomorrow. One of my wifes friends is moving and she wants me to help. :( We'll see.

I should be there Monday too provided I can get in (hoped to pay dues today, but didn't get there in time). What time you think you might be there?

Somewhere between 9 and 3. Sometimes it takes me longer than expected to load up the truck. :D Seriously though, I will probably be there mid morning. I doubt they will say anything if you are joining. Just tell them if the darn officers would fly more often you could pay them. lol

Do any of you have a Phoenix simulator? I have it and you can fly online but I haven't tried yet. It would be cool to have a MTRC fly in. :)

I saw it the other day. Is be interested in getting it. So far I've only used FMS because the price is right. :)

If you ever do get it I would just get the one that doesn't have the radio. The DX5 that comes with it isn't very ergonomic and if you have a nice radio it will work much better.

Yep. I bought a usb interface for my radio a while back. It even included several adapters so I could use just about any radio with a buddy box connection with my computer. :)

Hey Zach. I was going to call you but I an having trouble pulling up the PM on my blackberry for some reason. Anyway I am on my way to the field. Should be there by 10:30 or 11.

Had a great time yesterday!

If anyone would like to be amazed, have Mike pull out his RC Helicopter and give it a run. ;) :D

Its amazing what he can make an electric helicopter do!

No kidding. Best heli pilot I've seen. That was freakin nuts.

Thanks guys, I had a good time. Actually I kinda got stuck in a rut for a long time but since getting that big electric everything seems much easier so I end up trying new things. Zach, you did a pretty good job for not flying for so long. Just get some contrasting colors on those wings so you can tell which way is up and you will be good to go.

Possible solution to my problem ... 2 apple stickers on the top of the wing, one on each side

Soloed this afternoon :) Flight was cut a bit short after the pressure hose came off the muffler and the engine started sputtering :furious: Then I find that one of the canopy screws came off in flight too :fun5: But still took off and landed with no problem, so that was good. Note to self - get some loctite.

Cool. I figured it wouldn't take you long. Did you put anything on it so you could tell what side was up yet?
