OT - RC Airplanes

Cool, I put some wheels on my skywalker so it won't be falling over all the time now. lol I also redid my ground station so it is all on my tripod. A lot less setting up and hooking up wires. I can't wait to do some real world testing of my new goggles.

Nice! Those will be cool to see. The skywalker definitely needed wheels.

I have some work to do on the funtana and wagstaff, just need to get up a bit early.

Pretty windy right now over here. It's gusting at around 15mph... not cool. I'll see what it looks like this afternoon.

Things are finally working the way they should. The autopilot is working great now and I have it where I can go into the menu and the plane just keeps flying instead of diving. There was no point in any of the flights where I thought I was going down. :) I did a couple of flight from takeoff to landing with the goggles on. I flew 2 miles out at one point. I am processing the video now trying to deshake it with virtualdub. Hopefully it will work, I have been having problems getting it to work with the MP4 files from the GoPro.

I did my first waypoint flight today. The wind calmed down so I decided to take a flight around the house. I put in a waypoint and the plane flew directly to it and then back home. It was fun cruising around while it was calm. Very relaxing while not fighting the wind all the time. I even explained to my 7 year old son how the autopilot worked. He thought it was really cool when i sat the TX down and the plane circled around above us.

Cool. Looks like the weather is going to be good and not too windy. I will probably be out early morning :) I put an on-board glow ignitor on the Funtana as I just got around to ordering the gasket set. So, it should stay started... maybe I will get some actual flying in this weekend

If I flew my glider tonight it would probably be in Nashville by now. :D

I really like the soldering iron. I have done quite a bit with it already. Actually it has probably half paid for itself already since I would have had to get another transmitter to transmit the signal from my ground station to my goggles. Instead I just took the one out of something else. You have to see these goggles. The picture is fantastic compared to the other ones I have.

BTW, when are you going to start flying again?
