valuable - if removed, his team would be not good, but he alone makes them contenders.
suns, this year, wothout nash would be just as bad as lakers without kobe....but the suns are a much better team with nash than lakers are with kobe.
I'll make a friendly wager with anyone here that the suns win the series.....for say a $50 gift certificate to any Reef Central sponsor's online store.
81 points in a game, just is more proof he is most skilled player.

That's where Kobe loses the MVP award! Triple-teaming makes it difficult for even the all time greatest players to shoot around and the best always will look for the open guy but Kobe will still try to shoot over the triple team rather than being a team player. I have to admit, he's shown more team play as of late, hence the Lakers playing much, much better than ealier in the season. That's Kobe's only drawback! Once he fully matures and understands that, he will be the "Greatest" of all time. If he doesn't, he'll just be the Kobe most see him as(selfish).Originally posted by jjb81speed
I would just think it would be the player that makes other teams tripple team him. Or the player that has been the most unstoppable player out there.

I think it's clear now to see that MVP "DOES NOT" mean best player!!! Get that in your head, folks! It's who they think does more for their team overall. Kobe is "MOP", Most Outstanding Player"! I frankly, gave it to LeBron but Kobe came on very strong at the end of the season. No way Kobe is 4th in the MVP votes, definitely top 3.
I heard a great interview by Steve Kerr about a week ago comparing Kobe with MJ. He said he felt Kobe and MJ are very similar and that Kobe is a better ball handler and stronger player. Also, that Kobe is in the stage that MJ was before he started winning his titles. Kerr pointed out that one of the biggest turnarounds with MJ was when during an off-game he was having, he was being tripled teamed all night but kept on shootin' da' bricks! Phil finally called time-out and looked straight at MJ and asked, "Michael, who's open"! Kerr said MJ ignored him and Phil asked him again and MJ still didn't reply. Phil finally asked him louder a third time and MJ finally said, "Pax"! Since then, once MJ started trusting his teammates that the Bulls went on their run. Wonder why Phil hasn't done that with Kobe yet, or has he???
Lakers are young and full of potential and I feel one player away from being all the way back! Kobe starts having trust in his teammates, it's trouble for the rest of the league!!!
BTW, welcome to the SoCal forum Matt!!I'm sure you can't wait for this weekend's draft. I'm sure we can talk about it in another thread.
Cheers!
