ot selling a house on your own

Has anyone sold a house without the realtor envoleved. I have someone that may be interested in mine coming to look at it and if he wants it I don't really want to get a realtor envolved and pay 6% when they didn't do much unless it is a major pia to do it yourself.

I tried to sell mine with no success. If you can sell it on your own you can hire a lawyer to draw it up & help with closing. Will probably cost about $500 or so. Look up Escrow Service in yellow pages.

Get a lawyer to draw up the papers. Cheaper and if you get into legal actions, the realtor is not going to stand up for you. The lawyer will. Just my two cents worth.

That is great advice and definatly the route I would take if I had a buyer lined up.

Finding a buyer is all the work. All you need is a simple purchase and sales agreement then trun it over to a title company they do all the work anyway. Your state may use attouney to close but thats all a Realtor will do, there job is mostly to find a buyer.
