OT. So what do you kings fans think about Mike Bibby getting traded.?

Not a KINGS fan. But it's a damn good trade. Petrie is a genius... Next up is to bundle the rest of the scrubs that came with that trade with Ron Artest and expect a big name here in Sacramento... i.e. AK47 perhaps.

ak47 a big name hahaha. I guess if mike bibby really had to go this was an ok trade nothing special. We could of at least got a 1st rounder. Beno is average at best and turns the ball over to much. We would of been better off with mike bibby. If we lose artest as well who is going to want and come play here? I really hope the kings make a play for gilbert and artest when he opts out at the end of the year.

You figure you could have gotten better than Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue, Shelden Williams, Lorenzen Wright and a second-round pick for Mike Bibby.

Lots of good free agents at season's end:

Jermaine
Elton
Deng
Baron
Marion
Calderon
Arenas
Jamison

The West is just too deep for the Kings to even consider a Playoff push. With Bibby, and eventually Artest and all those Hawk players off the books, they could afford two of the above and have a pretty good team next year.

Big IF, though!

You know what i just thought of i think he looks like Jimdogg187. Would have to get a pic side by side. can anyone dig that up?

Oh well... All I have to say... Next year is going to be good though as they are going to have money under the cap.

Is one thing to have money under the cap but you got to have something for free agents to want to even consider sac in the first place. Were not LA or New York type of city so we have to have a team that going somewhere and has a chance to do something for a free agent to want to sign here. Until martin develops a killer instinct i doubt people like arenas, oneal, brand is going to be like yeah i want to play for sac there doing big things there. Now if we keep artest i know alot of players like the way he plays and when on top of his game he is one of the best two way players in the nba.

I think that was a good trade for the Kings despite that fact that I'm a huge Bibby fan. He has hit so many big shots for this franchise but his play has been declining year after year and it seems like every year he's has had some sort of injury.

Sheldon Williams was an awesome player in college, i REALLY REALLY HOPE he turns it around here!!

As far as Beno the guy is young, can shoot, can get into the paint, play above average D and has a really good attitude. I do agree with some post above he tends to turn the ball over quite abit but what do you except when a PG comes onto a new team after the season has started he's learning on the fly. I think Geoff Petrie really likes him and he will be signed long term.

As far as Free Agents coming to Sac, I think there will be some interest with the young core the Kings has; Martin, Udrih, Hawes, Salmons, Garcia, now Williams. I wouldn't mind seeing the Matrix playing along side K-Mart, that would be kind of funny two very good shooters with very UGLY shooting form playing together.

Oh yeah Artest is gone for sure after this year if not before the trade deadline, so the Kings need to Sign a low post player this offseason.

not kings fan either but this was a good deal for the kings, Bibby is garbage and hasn't been the same since that contract after the western championship finals and he hasn't given the kings nothin to talk about the last two seasons and as a defender, he is HORRID! he is not consistent and when he drops 20 the guard he is guarding is droppin 30 LOL! Sheldon Williams is a descent 4 and a hell of a lot better than the two guys there paying a combined 10 million for, i.e. Kenny Thomas and Shareef. yea remember them? Sheldon can provide more off the bench for the team than those two can with his eyes closed, and the way MR Inconsistant (bibby) has been playin lately, I would rather see Beno or Anthony Johnson play. A J is a physical oppossing guard, now that they are on a better team don't be surprised if they start ballin.
ohh yea they would have more money but not enough money or city to entice AGENT 0 to come to Sac, but they should try hard to keep Artest to get another big name to Sac. ohh and one last thing, BIBBY is garbage. Sac fans act like he has won you guys a championship or something.

If it wasn't for a bad bounce to Horry or the missed free throws in game 7, Bibby would have gotten Sac a championship. Bibby is not the player he once was but still a solid PG.

Bibby was the SUPERSTAR on the Kings when it really counted. He deserves KINGS FANS respect for all he did. Had he not been on the team they never would have come close to taking the Lakers to Game 7.

The Kings made a good deal though. Bibby was aging and was going to cost the kings too much long term. The addition of Williamns might be good but the Kings will get a premium free agent this offseason. People like playing for the Maloof's. I would really like to get Brand. If they could add Calderon as well they would be in good shape.

Bibby never was a "Superstar" with the Kings, he has been consistent and played fairly clutch when it counted but by no means a superstar, even in the playoffs. We can say "What If's" all day long about what may have happened had Horry never hit those shots but It only leads to more sadness :(
To me a PG should average a Double, Double every game, bibby never had more than 6 assists in a season (Ever.) The one thing I have always liked about him was his ability to control the ball and not give it away, he never has had too many turnovers throughout his career with the kings, which is a nice stat to look at.

I agree that it should be a good trade for the Kings. I expected Artest and Bibby out before trading deadline and it looks like barring something crazy Bibby is out. I think the Kings can certainly benefit from the added depth but are looking more towards saving cap space for next season and the crazy free agent market. People definitely like playing for the Maloof's and they're nice people, honest to God I met Joe at their casino in vegas, shook hands with him and he wished me good luck... Pretty cool Gesture from a near billionaire.

"IF" and "would have" are the key words, that's too bad it "DOES NOT EQUAL CHAMPIONSHIP". but its ok if they kept Bibby you guys might get a couple more wins, still be below 500, not make it to the play offs, not win a first, second or championship round in the play off I guess as long as stinky ole' bibby is the kings SOLID point guard is all that matters.LOL he isn't even solid anymore, just average.

ok so everyone loves playing for the Maloofs? has ther been a big name signed by the Kings the last 4 years non via trade? ....... hmmm...still thinking.... hmmm.....someone PLEASE help me...... hmmmm.

and yes SOLID 1 guard should be averaging double doubles atleast avg 16 and 8. Remember whenBibby would create for himself, webb, vlade, and his other team members? he would get to the paint with lay ups or get fouled and lately he has turned into a jump shooter. and his assist has also dropped significantly, that's not a SOLID 1 guard at all. but then again I could be wrong, after all I am not a Kings fan and am not a fan of weak guards who are below or average with no D. just my .02.

In the two years right before he came to sac, he average 14.5 points 8.1 assist and 15.9 and 8.4 assist. He also had 7 assist and 19 points in the 04-05 season.. With a team with great passing big men like webber, vlade and miller of course your assist will go down. Throw in christie's sharp passes to peja back in the days as well. Bibby was a star but like every star they get older but without him we would've of never been that good.

If you guys DO trade Artest, it will only leave you really with 1 player that some players would like to play with in K.Martin but will that be enough of a draw for a STAR type player to come to Sac knowing how much the west has improved for years to come.

He's got to ask himself if I do come here, with KM a rookie coach and a westernconference in which 45-48 wins DOSN'T guarantee you a playoff spot be worth coming there.

Other teams in the past years that had a **** LOAD of cap space couldn't get stars to come.

BTW- Artest dosn't have that huge of a market for trades in the NBA, his reputation, his actions and volitility have really put a damper on his value.

Hmmmm.....The Kings had no room under the cap, so singing a big name was impossible. Hmmmmmm....If you are capped out, you can't go after big name free agents. Hmmmm.
