OT Son going in Marines, Needs Short term job

My son is enlisting in the Marines, but will not depart for boot camp for 4-5 weeks. In the mean time, he still needs to make his car payment. Employers are reluctant to hire for just a few weeks, and he doesn't want to lie, and mislead them. He is looking for anything legal to make a few dollars. He can clean gutters, rototill that garden, move tanks- any odd job that needs doing. 1 day-1 week - a few hours. He is strong, physically fit and will work hard - obviously, or he wouldn't be joining the Marines!

This board has been wonderful helping with my marine interests and questions, maybe someone can help out/benefit with this Marine problem!

Thanks

I will look around and see what i have here. I was in the same position some years back when I went into the Navy.

On a seperate note, thank you for you and your son's commitment to the people of this nation.

Great idea! You can also try the day labor firms (Tad / Adecco, Labor Ready and etc) They are always looking for good reliable folks. Most of the jobs are day, weekly and monthly assignments. They will not care hopw long he is available and he does not need to lie about him leaving. I did the same before shipping out as well.
