Hey my dads birthday is coming up right around the corner and I wanted to get some sportsfishing in with him. I was thinking something taking off of the marina del rey or redondo beach areas. Does anyone know of any good places and prices?

Looking for a boat that is going for open ocean fish, not so much the rock fish.

Thanks alot,
Sonny

We used to go out of Dana Point on the Dana Pride.
Cool boat and we always had a good time. Probably because we would charter the whole boat (I think it holds like 45 people) and only take like 15 friends.
That was until my pops sacked up and bought his boat. Now we just take that.

The Del Mar counts are usually inflated... so you can't always trust their counts. I'd say Redondo's counts are fairly accurate, so I'd recommend there if you want to stay in the Santa Monica Bay area. Don't know much about Long Beach charters though. I heard 22nd st. over in San Pedro can sometimes be good. If you decide to go onto the Pursuit(sometimes goes to Catalina) its a long boat(1 1/2hr+) ride from the harbor to the northern end of Catalina. Good luck and have fun on your trip!

I called around a bit for an overnight trip, and I think we are going to take the thunderbird out of san pedro.

So how much is it for me and my pops to charter that boat that your dad bought?
