I just thought I would ask if anyone knew anything about these? I have a couple that have been sitting in storage for a few years. Now that the weather is nice I'm thinking about starting to restore them.
One is a 60's pepsi vendo. The other is from the 70's I believe. I plan on hanging onto the one from the 60's because it was my dads and i remember hustling bottles of soda from it while i was growing up.
Here is a couple pictures. The arent my actual machines but I believe they are the same models
and, believe it or not...Walmart sometimes carries the old coke bottles that fit that machine. how do i know this? we have one at the theater...it's a prop, but it needed to work...soooooooooooo......and then...okay, it works now...where the heck do i find the pop bottles?????
If anyone is interested... My father has had one in his garage for years that hes no longer using. I believe its either from late 70s or early 80s. Its a pepsi machine. Accepts only coins.
Refregieration worked fine the last time it was in use, i believe there might be an electrical problem with the buttons.
I could find out if hes interested in parting ways with it if anyone is interested. Pm me.
P.S.
Located in Utica... About 45 min east of Cuse.
Those are excellent Matt, particularly the first one. My buddy has one in his garage that he changed all the buttons to beers and stocked it with, um, well,.....beers. It's awesome. I might like to copy cat him in the future. As per usual, I'm in limbo until the house sells.
I don't spose those are STAR rated for energy efficiency???
That would be a cool restore. I thought about it once but dont know much about the mechanical stuff, thought I'd be out of my element so never persuded.
Cully ~ I got a friend that did the same thing in converting it to dispense beer and has it in his garage ,also.Lives over in warners.
Yeah I plan on doing the whole beer thing with the first one. Instead of having buttons you put your change in open the glass door grab the neck of the bottle you want and pull it out. Next to where each hole is for the different soda/beer you put a bottle top to show whats in that slot.
Matt, my neighbor has a bunch of old bottles and machines and all that stuff, and he's always looking to make a deal. It's on Harrison St. in the Heights off of Horseheads Blvd.
I don't know if he has any that he's selling, but he has TONS of vintage stuff. Next time I see him out I'll get his number and everything and tell him that I know of a few people who might be interested in seeing what he has.
one of them came off but the other two are still on the rock. They haven't opened up yet, but I've had them on the sand since I got them. The crabs have been all over the rocks, so I'm going to blame them! I'll try moving the rock up higher in the tank this week and see if it opens up for me.
Just looked when I turned off the MH light. All 3 zoas are gone from the rock. I don't know if it was the crab crawling on the rock or what, but hopefully I can get another frag from you sometime. Let me know if you want some cash or whatever, cause I definitely want those zoas!
