OT: Where are the UCLA Fans???

Look, UCLA had one of the easiest roads to the final 4, and barely made it there. They cannot move the ball when pressured, and cannot run plays. They stare at the ball handler half the time, and Shipp is on a slump. The guards can easily lock down on Collison and Westbrook, and Love is going to get man handled down low. UCLA fans better hope for a miracle. Although Memphis is from Conference USA, you must say the beat down they handed to Texas made you say WOW... Everyone in LALA land is in "Love" but Memphis has a "Rose" that'll snap you back to reality.
Davidson is a good team, they got cold at the worse time. But their players can shoot the rock, and their defense in the paint was awesome. They played their hearts out, they were outsized down low and still were able to hold it down.
Can't wait until Saturday. Better hope, Shipp, Collison, and Westbrook get their stroke or one man in "Love" won't do it all come game night.

That's it, Mark!! I"m not visiting your thread anymore. :p

Thats all it took, Ahh man...I would of mentioned this along time ago

Tee--What you say might be true, but Howland's style is not to run and gun, but to slow it down and cut possesions by playing good defense. Sounds familiar...(spurs) Treats them pretty well.

It will be an entertaining game none the less. This is the first final four I have been excited about in a long time.

OK, Mark, you got me :) I like that you can hang with this ncal vs scal *debate* and not get all up in a frenzy like the laker fans, who like to keep coming back to the *did you check the standings?* blurb. LOL. They seem to get all excited. :D

OK, let the flaming begin

I am a fan. I did not go there as I was only offered a two year and the fact that it was in LA, I would not justify the extra money needed to attend. I am a Nor Cal guy and Sac town has treated me very nicely ;)

Most of my teams are "rebuilding" right now. I do not need to justify my fan hood like some fans who do not know much except what they watch on ESPN.

Remember the Laker fan on Sangs thread. I don't ever think he came back when I mentioned the Celtics had more titles and a better record and asked him how he was going to turn that one around. He told me to check the standings; I did

yeah, that OP (bladze or something) never came back! He went up in his own BLAZE, lol. it's funny how they keep arguing that they are laker fans because they have the best record against this division, that division, blah blah. When I think a true fan is there through thick and thin. I think I'm a true Warriors/CAL fan. Not ashamed to show my face even though CAL didn't make the tourney. Nor do I feel a need to post threads cuz "Lakers are on a roll" I know where my heart is.

With that said, boo hoo Lakers and Bruins  Boo hoo USC and Dodgers :D

+1
BTW: Cal did go to a tourney... One I thought they could've done better at, none the less it was a tourney.

BTW: Did you see how Western Kentucky put up the heat, and forced all those turnovers on UCLA? They got lucky time ran out. Their guards are over rated, and it is tough for them to push the ball up. Pressure D on that team is going to hurt them. If they can keep their T.O. low, and protect the fast breaks they will do fine. But that is a big IF. Love is going to have problems down low and look for Memphis to attack him early and often to get him out the game. It's going to be a fun one!

Tee - yeah, I know. I was referring to the NCAA tourney :) Why do people keep asking me if Mike MOntgomery will be our next coach??? I say he's not allowed on campus :D

True that--but this whole week Howland should be able to get them better prepared to work on that among other issues (i.e. Shipp needs to step it up).

I'm an LA guy and in the beginning I thought UCLA had what it took to make it all the way and I still think they do. It's true, Shipp and Westbrook aren't doing too well right now, but the fact that they are still winning without serious contributions by these guys offensively, should say something. Granted their wins are against Miss Valley St, Texas A&M, WKU, and Xavier, but a win is a win in this tourney. The way Memphis played in their last game against Texas was outstanding, although Augistine didn't really play to his level, maybe because of Memphis' D. Whatever the case is, I can't wait to see this game because I am expecting a great game and in the end I hope that UCLA does come out on top. With that being said, GO AGGIES!!! LOL

Like I said above, I know UCLA isnt playing to thier potential right now and even though Love is getting a lot of positive attention, ive always thought they were missing that one superstar that could step up and get them a win. I think their strongest advantage is that they have a very strong starting 5, all of whom could break out and have a big game. The problem is that theres really no "go to" guy in a crunchtime situation. As counterintuitive as it sounds, sometimes a team full of good players gets into trouble because they dont have that one "great" go to guy.

That being said, I think they are perhaps the strongest all around team right now. Sure, the other teams have their respective superstars but I dont see them having as solid a starting 5 as UCLA does. I think Memphis is playing well and thier win against Texas was impressive but outside of that win, they havent played anyone tough as well. I think this will be a great game (much, much, much better than the UNC v. Kansas game will be) and sure, Memphis could win by 10 but if UCLA is on point, i see this being a very close game, with UCLA pulling out at th end ;)
